Before our dolls headed off to Camp Doll Diaries they had a Career Day where they could learn about different occupations. Our friends at Casey’s Doll Closet provided us with some outfits that were perfect for the occasion. Casey’s Doll Closet carries clothes and accessories for 15″ and 18″ dolls from some of our favorite brands (like Sophia’s) and they even have doll clothes “subscription” packages – what a fun gift to give or receive.
Back to Career Day!
From left to right – Chrissa as an astronaut, McKenna as a nurse and April as a pilot.
McKenna started off our presentation talking about her uniform first – she has a crisp white cap with the red cross on it and a lab coat style dress that buttons up the front and has a tie waist. The white material is quite thick and I like the fact that they used buttons instead of velcro.
There are even pockets for McKenna to keep her stethoscope or notepad in. The shoes did not come with the outfit.
McKenna will be serving as the Camp Doll Diaries nurse this summer. She recommends doing some volunteering at your local hospital once you are in high school if you have an interest in the medical field.
April was so excited to find out that she can be a pilot when she grows up just like Natalie’s Dad! Her flight suit comes complete with all the same type of patches, pockets and zippers that real military pilots have on their flight suits. The outfit comes with a hat (that is different from what the pilots wear, but it is still cute) but does not come with boots – we used ones we already had.
Fighter pilots are known for “talking with their hands” as they show you how their plane flew like this and their opponent flew like that. April is giving a demonstration of how a flight overview might go and talking about how important it is to keep good grades in school if you want to be a pilot one day. For those of you who have 18″ boy dolls, this would be a perfect outfit for them, too.
Chrissa looks so cute in her replica orange NASA jumpsuit. She has been busy helping my son all winter long with his Mars mission planning and she is eager to share what she has learned with her classmates. She is kind of sad that he won’t take her to the Summer Academy program in a few weeks but understands why!
Like the flight suit, the astronaut suit is made of a nice thick material and has all sorts of patches, zippers, pockets and clips for keeping all of their tools and gear secure when working in a zero gravity environment. It comes with the hat, but not the shoes.
What would you like to be when you grow up?
I’d like to thank Casey’s Doll Closet for sending us these outfits for review! If you are looking for some fun, original outfits for your 18″ dolls, you should definitely check them out.
