What a great giveaway! My girls love American Girl dolls and my oldest is having an ice skating birthday party next weekend. I love this time of year because of all the holiday traditions we do together…Lights in the Park, Christmas cookies, Advent calendar surprises, making gifts for each other…I could go on and on! Happy Holidays to you!

Please enter me in the contest.

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I like the decorations, the cooler weather, shopping, buying things for people I love, decorating, baking, and visiting my relatives. This year is a bit more frustrating though. I’m trying to decorate my tree today and my 2 year old and my kitten are NOT cooperating!

My favorite part of Christmas is donating to charities, and buying that oh so perfect present, that may not cost much, but is something I know the recipient will love, and then seeing their faces as they open it up!

My daughter and I love this Holiday season. It’s a great time to learn about giving to others. My daughter especially loves all the lights and decorations. As my daughter has gotten older she truely understands the meaning of giving and is less focused on getting. Her olny request this year has been for either AG gift certificates or money for our yearly trip to New York to visit the AG store!

  5. Christy on December 6th, 2007 4:46 pm

One of my favorite things about this time of year is the Christmas music ~ sometimes I just can’t wait to start listening to my holiday CD’’s ~ they put me in a festive mood and fill my heart with joy and happiness.

Please enter me in the contest.

What a beautiful Doll Char. It’s actually snowing today here in Omaha. I hope it snows a lot! I guess you could say I love the holiday lights and decorations, the reason for the season, and the SNOW. Thanks for the opportunity.

  7. Annika on December 6th, 2007 6:55 pm

What a cute outfit! DD would love it for Kit.

My favorite thing about the holidays is celebrating with family– putting aside all the chores and “have tos” and just having fun together.

  8. Jenifer on December 6th, 2007 6:56 pm

My favorite part of the winter and holiday season is the togetherness. We all brave crowds and weather just to see our loved ones, but it’s all worth it.

  9. Renata on December 6th, 2007 7:06 pm

    Happy Holidays to all!

My favorite part…the spirit of giving. My children are just starting to get caught up in it. I got the Santa question the other day. I explained that when you don’t believe in Santa anymore that means that you move up to the Spirit of Giving and all the joy you felt when you received gifts you now feel when you give gifts.

Please enter me too. Thank you.

Ooh, I’d love this outfit; it’s so pretty!

My favorite part of winter/the holidays? Well, there’s more than one but of course I love being with my family and friends (and my kitty and of course my dolls). I also love the traditions that my family and I have like baking lots of cookies and my mom and I driving around town, looking at the holiday decorations on the houses. And the snow-a classic New England Christmas is truly a magical time of year!

  11. DivaJean on December 6th, 2007 8:00 pm

We love to spend time as a family watching CHristmas specials and singing all the songs LOUDLY. It ends up being a laugh riot and our bellys hurt from laughing!

(Hope I win- My daughter thinks the outfit would be perfect for Mia- the 2008 doll- who she is already saving up for.)

I love the winter because everything is so beautiful! The pretty lights, yummy gingerbread and sugar cookies, ice skating, putting up the tree for christmas, and best of all spending time with my family. It is a glorious time of year! I wish everyone good luck on getting this beatiful outfit!

  14. nannypam on December 7th, 2007 5:14 am

Our holiday begins early in December with St. Nicholas day and doesn’t end until the third weekend in January when we all finally get together and celebrate our “family Christmas”. I have 9 daughters (the youngest are 5 & 9) and 12 grandchildren. That is a lot of AG fun! I fill 3 foot socks for each of the youngsters for our “family Christmas” and it is so much fun finding just the right things! Hmm…if I win…do I keep the outfit for myself…or give it to one of the girls? Decisions, decisions!

  15. Salli O'Neil on December 7th, 2007 1:44 pm

My almost 7 year old daughter and I just found this great site!! We love the winter, especially since Shelby will turn 7 on December 12th. We are planning an ice skating party with her Brownie Troop. Since we live in California, we don’t have snow, but we decorate the whole house like a winter wonderland. We have two family traditions that begin on December 1st. The first tradition that kicks off the season is our nativity set and the second is the advent calendar! The best part of winter this year will be our trip to the American Girl Store in Los Angeles to see the Christmas performance and have the holiday meal.
Thanks for putting together such a great and informative site!
    Happy Holidays to All!

  75. Patricia A. Orta on December 12th, 2007 3:07 am

It has become a tradition in my family that each of the graddaughters get an American Girl Doll for Christmas and if they desire (and they usually do!!) one for their birthday. My greatest joy of the holidays- that is so easy- watching the wonder, suprise and sheer delight in the eyes of the little ones as they open the packages from Santa on Christmas morning. I remember back to my childhood when my sister and I would wake up and sneak to look at the tree- half afraid that we would be too early and Santa had not yet arrived. Once we saw the toys, we would run into Mom and Dad’s room yelling Santa Came, Santa Came!!! My husband would never wait for the children to wake up. Santa would put the presents under the tree, fill the stockings and when all was perfect-he would go running around the house yelling at my daughter and son to wake up- Santa was here—–sometimes it was as early as 2or 3 in the morning. Of course, Mrs. Claus was irritated because she had not been to sleep- He even did this when my grandchildren were staying with us for the holidays…..but now my children are grown and my sweet husband has passed, I would give anything to have one more Christmas like that.

  76. Donna on December 12th, 2007 3:08 am

I don’t do Christmas because it is a man-made custom/tradition and it doesn’t say to celebrate JC birthday in the Bible but I do love seeing people giving to charities and helping others less fortunate out.

I celebrate my Father and His Son everyday of the year and when I find something I know someone will like, I get it for them no matter what time of the year. It makes it so much more special for the “just because” effect.

We havea traditional Italian seafood dinner follwed by watching and laughing hysterically over old home movies. We open one gift and while my kids who are in their 20’s and teens play with it we put out all the gifts. THe next morning we open gifts and have a nice brunch. My husband and I collapse after that and maybe go to a movie while son’s visit their girlfriends

My daughter’s favorite “toy” is her Marisol American Girl Doll, although she considers her “real”, and not a toy! She would love to add this outfit to her collection! Out favorite part of winter is sledding in our back yard and avoiding the obstacles…tree, stone walls, etc. It’s snowing now and she is outside sledding at this moment…Happy Holidays!
