Wilde Wednesday Returns

Now that the 100 Days of Doll Play is over, I have more time for some of the other regular features on Doll Diaries like Wilde Wednesday, Spotlight Sites (coming up this weekend), more hairstyles and other goodies.

For some reason I find working with Ellowyne’s hair very relaxing – especially my original Ellowyne, Dark Days who I named Elle.

Elle

So I was sitting at my desk trying to decide what to work on next and started playing with Elle’s hair. She ended up with a do that looks a lot like “I Dream of Jeannie” with her ponytail up on her head.

Ellowyne

I took one piece of her ponytail and braided it, then wrapped it around the elastic and secured it in the back by slipping the end through the braid. This does two things – adds dimension to the ponytail and creates lift so her ponytail doesn’t just hang there.

Elle

But wait, there’s more! Before her hair went in a ponytail, I turned Elle upside down and did a french braid starting at the base of her neck. I think it looks pretty cool. I would like to try it again on her but do a tight fishtail braid starting at the base of her neck instead. Then I want to do this french braid technique on one of the AG dolls whose hair is not quite as long.

Ellowyne

Ellowyne is just SO photogenic!

So, would you like me to do a tutorial on her hairstyle? Would it be helpful?

Ellowyne

Madelon’s Ellowyne is a lucky girl. She inherited this cute Irish school outfit from a porcelain doll that met an early demise (as in she broke). I just love the mini Claddagh pin.

For any of our readers that have Ellowyne dolls from Wilde Imagination, you are always welcome to send in photos of your Ellowynes for Wilde Wednesday.

Have a great day! I may add another post this evening, but I’m headed to the golf course today.

I love I dream of Jeanie! Great show. So was Bewitched, and the Twilight Zone. I’ve done similar hairstyles to that with the french braid starting at her neck. I had to do a fancy hairdo for my cosmetology class last year and I french braided my styling head upside down like Char’s, but instead of the ponytail I seperated the front hair into two parts. The very front, I put in an elastic, but left enough hair to swoop and pin to the side. I put the other hair in an elastic, then combined both small ponytails into one large one. I then curled the ponytail, and added a beaded barette. It looked stunning! Reminded me of Cinderella.

Elle’s hair looks SO COOL! I want to try that with my hair. :D
I have Essential Ellowyne 4 in blonde from ebay. I’d love to play with her hair, but I can’t make myself take it out of those two braids she came with because they’re so pretty and I got the front part of her hair to fall just right. I may have to get another one with straight hair just so I can play with it. Time to go check ebay…. ;D

@mya– what sort of instrument do you need? If it’s something more two dimentional, like a guitar, you can print off a picture and trace it onto cardboard (to make it stiff). For drums you can use oatmeal containers and cans (just have a parent help you tape over or sandpaper off the sharp edges!). There were directions in the 100 Days of Doll Play for a piano/keyboard. Are there any others that you need?
