Today is the official Talk Like a Pirate Day and if your dolls are in need of a pirate name or a pirate hat, make sure you go back and revisit our pirate doll play day from this summer – there is a printable activity sheet for it. I also decided to use that theme for today’s Wilde Wednesday post which features the dolls I personally collect and love, Ellowyne Wilde from Wilde Imagination.
Ellowyne Wilde “Positively Negative” who we call Caitlyn, just found this Treasure Map for Talk Like a Pirate Day.
“Hey Elle! What kind of treasure do you think we are supposed to be looking for today?” said Caitlyn.
“Hmm, I don’t know, but I sure hope it is a treasure chest of jewels, clothes, and shoes!” answered Elle (Dark Days Ellowyne)
I just love photographing the Ellowynes. I am not sure what it is about them that makes them so photogenic, but they are. They just are gorgeous. And when you can get the right lighting and right angles, it can be stunning!
Even more gorgeous from this angle! I love how the light hit the background I was using.
The pirate party bandanas are left over from a Pirates of the Caribbean movie watching party we had last year and they work so well for this photoshoot.
Just gorgeous from any angle!!
I hope you enjoyed today’s Wilde Wednesday and yes, I know, I still need to do the tutorial for the hairstyle I gave Elle last week. It may be another week or so, but I will try to get it done for you.

fristie!
haha I just got secondie (I think) on the new ag store.
secondie!
It’s Talk Like a Pirate Day? Thanks for letting me know, Char, I can really irritate my brother with this one!!! Hehe, just kidding :- )
…Kinda.
Anyway, Ellowyne is just beautiful! I love how they don’t have alot of make-up like some other dolls- it’s really natural beauty, except around the yes. Gorgeous!
Talk Like a Pirate Day? What fun! Aaaarrrrr!
Great photos! I love Positively Negative/Caitlyn. I almost bought her when she was on sale, but decided against it due to money and display space constraints. Now part of me wishes I had bought her anyway.
Good point Amanda! I like that about them too. Most dolls today (particularly barbie type dolls) don’t look very natural and then many girls get the wrong idea about how they should look. Alright, I’m getting off the soap box now
Awwww. I love these.
Beautiful photos!
They do seem very photogenic! I don’t know why but the Monster High doll Rochelle is really photogenic also! Great pictures!
I keep wishing that I could magically have one of those dolls just apear on my doorstep
Beautiful!
I agree, Kassidy. Rochelle definitely is photogenic! Caitlyn is so cute and her face is stunning.
The pirates life for ellowyne!
Mr. Penguin, I know! I love the dolls but they’re very expensive.
I look like Caitlyn because I have red hair and blue eyes.
Char-
Can you please make more crafts in the fall?
Liv – yes – we have some planned and Karen will have them on Fridays for you, too.
Arrrggghhh! Shiver me timbers! Time to swab the decks! lol
I am kinda crazy right now… I had too many Skittles
Oh and i forgot something….
YOHOYOHO A PIRATE’S LIFE FOR ME!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, thank you! LOL
OK. enough sugar for me XD
cute
I think you should get plaid to meet you!
Molly, yup. I always try to get the message out their that girls should be happy with who they are, and let their true beauty shine. Going through a time where I was trying to be something I wasn’t, I have learned that never, ever does it pay off. Not to mention it’s ovbious.
I like to embrace my beauty, instead of ‘make up’ for what I don’t have ;- )
But yes, these dolls are GORGEOUS! But the price made me almost do a spit take with my water!
Amanda – the Ellowyne dolls are expensive and are not play dolls by any means. They are extremely well made and offered in limited editions typically. I have been patient in my collecting and have waited for most of them to be on a really good sale (like 50% off) before I buy them.
Char- Oh, they aren’t? Well then Ellowynes are for me! I don’t nessicarily play with my dolls, but more just style their hair, and I like to look at them, lol! I would pay $50 for them, they are beautiful! I love Positively Negative. Thanks for clearing that up, I was like “$100 for a doll that size!?”. I was thinking Barbie quality, to. Thanks for letting me know! :- )
Amanda – Ellowynes are 16″ tall – so much bigger than Barbie. They have amazing, thick long hair that can be washed and styled, and they are very poseable. I recommend them for junior collectors and up.
Cool! I’ll be watching them on sale. Thanks for the info! :- )
Love the pics. Thanks also for the Ellowyne lesson. I also did not know cost/construction info.
Beautiful pictures! wow!
