Pink Princess Dress Serendipity Dolls

Earlier this month, the team from Serendipity Dolls sent the Doll Diaries team some outfits from the 18″ doll clothes line to review. )Diana did a review on the outfit she received here and Karen posted her review on Friday.) I was sent the Pink Furry Coat and the Pink Princess Dress to review. Since my outfits were ballet inspired, Isabelle immediately took it upon herself to try them on. She put on the princess dress and topped it off with the coat and headed to the dance studio.

The pink furry coat is fun. The material is fluffy, has a swirled pattern in it and it has a bit of a peplum shape to it. It velcros up the front and was super easy to get on and off of Isabelle.  It think it would look great with jeans and pink boots, too.

Once in the ballet studio, Isabelle takes off her coat and gives the princess dress a spin.  The dress has a built in leotard but the velcro only goes down to Isabelle’s waist in the back so getting this dress on Isabelle was a bit of a challenge – it is just a teeeny bit snug. The bodice is a satiny material that is partially lined – unfortunately, where the lining ends it leaves a bump so depending on the angle and the light you can see it. Not a show stopper,  but definitely needs to be noted. The bodice is covered in little rosettes, too.

The skirt is made of 4 layers of tulle and has a very short underskirt sewn in. Again, it is not a show stopper, but I think it would have been nicer if the underskirt went down to the edge of the tulle.  The shoes are a slipper style shoe that tie at the ankles. They fit Isabelle just fine.

Here is a closer look at the bodice on Madame Alexander Belle. You can see, all the stitching is very neat and the dress is made well.

Our Madame Alexander Belle also wanted to give the outfit a try. Belle is also a soft body 18″ doll, but she is more slender than her American Girl cousins. This dress fit her nicely – not too snug, not too loose.  As you can see, she has a vinyl shoulder plate which makes strappy styles like this one look much nicer.

You can get a better look at the short under skirt in this photo. Belle really likes this dress and thinks it fits her princess personality very nicely!

Serendipity Dolls has some really cute outfits for 18″ dolls and they are reasonably priced (most outfits are around $20 or less) making them good doll clothes for play. I love the star pajamas, Serendipity Jogging Suite and the Fairies top with the white pants. I look forward to seeing what new outfits they add to their shop in the coming months, too!  If you create an account and sign up for their mailing list you can get a $5 off coupon, plus they offer free shipping on orders over $50.

So, who wore it best?
