With the debut of Isabelle, the 2014 American Girl Doll of the Year, I decided to create a ballet studio for dolls to rehearse and practice in to honor and welcome her to her new home.

It was really quite simple and came out oh so adorable.  I used a thrift shop mirror and spray painted the frame black.  To make the ballet bar, I hung a decorative curtain rod using ribbon pieces thumbtacked to the wall (easy to move around this way).  Wah-Lah, it is that easy.

To dress Maria in style to test the dance studio, I went to AC Moore and bought Springfield Doll’s ballet outfit and ballet shoes.

I pulled her hair up too because dancers usually wear their hair up when they are dancing.

I think Maria looks lovely and I just know she will enjoy practicing ballet with Isabelle when she arrives.

To win the Springfield Doll ballet tutu and a bunch of other fun pink ballet things to create for your dolls, you can enter this contest by visiting my blog post today that shares a handmade feather tutu using Rit Dye.  Click here to check it out!

Happy Dancing,
