It’s finally here!! Camp Doll Diaries’ third summer of fun starts now! This summer is all about you – our amazing community – from the creation of the logo, input on our themes, guest counselor posts and more – you get to play an even bigger role in Camp Doll Diaries than ever before. Remember, there are no real RULES for Camp Doll Diaries – we are here to INSPIRE CREATIVITY and PLAY. Take what we share and make it your own – use what you have and adapt as necessary. In some cases, we are even going to be linking back to previous year’s camp activities as additional resources and ideas.
We would like to thank the sponsor of our first week of camp – our good friends at MyDollslife.com. If you are looking for fun and affordable clothes, accessories, furniture and add-ons for your doll play, they have a great selection – including the super realistic Coleman camping line that we are using this summer.
Today is all about setting up your camp area, checking in your campers for this week and having fun. We found doll sized chalkboard easels at AC Moore (most of the craft stores have them) and used Bistro Markers to make our own check-in sign. You can make a sign on just about anything – cardboard, scrapbook paper, felt – here are a few more ideas: Karen’s welcome sign from last week and from 2013, Anna shows you a few ways to make camp signs.
A first day of camp essential is a name tag! We have made name tags a few different ways over the years, but this year we found a package of mini gift tags at AC Moore and thought they would be perfect for camp name tags. We set up a corner of the check in desk for our campers to customize their name tags. Need more ideas? Take a look at: Check-in and Name Tags from 2013 and Quick Name Tags from 2014.
Grace is one of our Counselors this week – she is getting everything ready for our first camper to check in. Any guesses as to who the first camper to check in this year will be?
It’s Ivy! Callie gets her checked in and takes her Camper Information form. Did you miss this set of forms? Go to: More Printable Camp Doll Diaries Forms to print out as many as you need.
Next stop, name tags for Ivy and then it is off to find out if she is in a cabin this year or if she is in one of the tents.

- The camp t-shirts are available in the Doll Diaries Etsy shop
Just like last year, we are going to be sharing Camp Memories weekly. Camp Memories photos will be put up bulletin board style and will not include names or descriptions – just photos (so watermark yours if that is important to you!). If you take photos of any of the projects you make this week and want to be in the CAMP MEMORIES post, email ONE photo per week to TEAM@DOLLDIARIES.COM and put CAMP MEMORIES in the subject line. Please note, this is a separate email address just for Camp Memories. For everything else, please use email@example.com. Feel free to share your camp fun on your own blogs (email me the links to the posts so I can share them), Instagram (#campdolldiaries and tag us @dolldiaries), Facebook (post to our timeline) or YouTube (email me the link).
It’s going to be a great summer!!
