Springfield Dolls

Yesterday was a pretty awesome day! I happened to be near the Fibre Craft/Springfield Doll headquarters and got to go visit them for a while. So. Much. Fun. What a cool place to work!

Everyone had craft supplies, crafts in progress, finished crafts and toys at their desks – forΒ  real! It was amazing. There were dolls on their desks, dolls in the process of being “tested”, dolls modeling new items, potential new outfits and dolls just hanging out.

I got to see some of the new outfits that are scheduled to arrive in stores and at Springfield online this fall. They even let me photograph some of them for you. Do you want to see?

Now how cute is this leopard print skirt and solid top? And the shoes? So sweet. I have no idea what the outfit names are, but I can show you some of them.

Pink dress with braided belt and fringed boots.

Such a classic! Pink and white striped top and white cuffed shorts.

Another classic look. Olivia wants to know where her shoes are!

We were playing with the various dolls who had on the new clothes but were obviously not expecting their photos to be taken today. I should have taken a photo of the Abby who had a big piece of paper taped to her that said “Do not touch – testing!” She was testing the color fastness of a pair of shoes.

This set is going to be very popular! I love the hoodie! The dark green shoes don’t go with it but Olivia was protesting the idea of being photographed barefoot.

Olivia is totally rocking this fun tiered dress! What a cutie!

More from the back room. The green dress is so pretty and the diagonal striped dress is my favorite. I’m not sure what happened to Maria’s other shoe – but those are a new style too.

Other items I saw photos of, but no samples yet are CUTE (and I mean cute) rainboots, a polkadot tankini, another polka dot dress, and a few more that we will leave as surprises.

This is one of the four big posters hanging in their classroom area. I loved seeing what they have done with local Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs in the area, too. So much inspiration under one roof!

I can not believe how much I learned in an afternoon with Renee and Rhonda and I want to THANK them for showing me around and letting me see the behind the scenes at Fibre Craft.
