Are you ready for the first of the more detailed reports from the companies I visited this year at Toy Fair? This year I am going to start with Sophia’s Heritage. For those of you who are not yet familiar with Sophia’s, they are one of the largest wholesale doll clothes, furniture and accessories manufacturers. They do have their retail site, My Doll’s Life, but you can find Sophia’s in specialty shops and online.
The Sophia’s booth design has come a LONG way since the first year I attended Toy Fair. I loved the sports focused panels on this side of the booth. The other end had winter focused outfits.
Inside the booth were different scenes set up to highlight the various products Sophia’s offers. Sophia’s sets are known for having lots of pieces, making them so much fun for play. The beauty salon accessories has new packaging making it easier to see what is included each set.
The rolling cart is still one of my favorite pieces – you can use it so many different ways.
Sophia’s is not just for 18″ dolls – they have furniture, clothes and accessories for 15″ dolls like Bitty Baby, too.
I always love doll furniture pieces that serve double duty – play and storage!
Did someone say doll food? Look at all those yummy treat sets! Lemonade, ice cream treats, tea pots, banana splits, cupcakes and more!!
Here is a closer look at some of the treats and play dishes up close. The Sophia’s items are fun, colorful, realistic and best of all – affordable!
The Valentine Warm Your Heart Set is just the cutest thing ever. I love the packaging – it is very nice and is suitable for storing multiple set.
The Warm Your Heart set on display. Such cute cake pops and cookies!
Special occasion dresses for play and as keepsakes!
The Paris-inspired dress is fun – I bet Grace would love it too.
Sophia’s has a wonderful set that they have created in partnership with the ASPCA to educate on pet care and rescue animals, and they also donate to the charity. We have done a review of the ASPCA sets in the past, but the t-shirts are something new.
Sophia’s has a two-story doll house for the 18″ dolls available. This was new last year but I had not seen it first hand yet. It is a great size in that there is plenty of room for play (and the balconies are a nice touch), but it is not gigantic like the My Girl’s Dollhouse we used to have.
A closer look at the bedroom in the doll house. The interior designs are fun and bright – just like all the Sophia’s backdrops.
It looks like a slumber party in action for sure! The trundle bed matches the other furniture pieces and the end table can also be flipped over to be used as an ottoman.
In my highlights post I showed you the field hockey set. They also have plenty of options for the gymnast including multiple leotard styles and accessories.
These two were definitely dressed for the bitter cold NYC weather over the weekend!
In addition to making doll sized playsets, Sophia’s makes kid sized play sets that can be used in conjunction with their other sets. I am super excited about the new backdrops – one of which is a doctor’s office. And their concession stand table is still one of the best value pieces you can purchase as it works great as a dining table, craft table, concession stand, lemonade stand and as you can see – even a veterinarian’s exam table.
There were quite a few new accessories that I was not able to photograph and share with you yet, however, let me just say, there are plenty of items that are inspired by what girls of today are wearing that will be coming out later this year.
Look for Sophia’s Heritage items on the My Doll’s Life web site (and don’t forget you can save 20% off at My Doll’s Life using the exclusive code DIARIES all year long) and select retail outlets and websites.
