While the big blizzard that came through the Northeast did not keep us from Toy Fair in New York, it did cause some vendors, reps and even displays from making it to the show on time. Sonja Hartmann’s Kidz ‘n Cats dolls for her booth were delayed in getting to the show and honestly, I felt so bad for her. She had her display with her fashion dolls and was able to get a big banner made at the last minute, but her shining stars – her 18″ Kidz ‘n Cats dolls were stuck at the airport when Toy Fair opened on Sunday!

I stopped in to talk with her first thing and even stopped in again right before we left, and still no dolls. Luckily, Maxine, from My Doll Best Friend was going to be at Toy Fair all week and was kind enough to go back to the Kidz ‘n Cats booth and take a few photos for me – THANK YOU MAXINE!

Carlotta – on the left – is new for 2013 and I think she has such a pretty face. I love the burgundy and gray combination in her outfit, too. Lena – on the right – was introduced in 2009.

Look at those eyes! They are absolutely captivating! The Kidz ‘n Cats dolls have 11 points of articulation so they are very posable, but the best part about these dolls are their faces, they are just so pretty.

This photo of Kiki, another one of the new releases, gives you a good look at the joint structure of her elbows and wrists. I really need to make a visit to The Toy Shoppe in Richmond so I can see the new dolls up close for myself. It looks like Sonja may have changed their upper body slightly but it is too hard to tell from the photos. Kiki has such a sweet face too, and her cat has quite a bit of personality, too.

Laura is the Kidz ‘n Cats doll that had me captivated last year. I have yet to see her in person and was really looking forward to seeing her up close and checking out those curls!

Hmmmm, Carlotta or Laura – now that would be a tough choice. Maybe I don’t need to go The Toy Shoppe… I might come home with two new dolls…

Again, I am so grateful for Maxine being able to take these photos for me and am glad that Sonja’s dolls finally arrived in time for the final days of Toy Fair.

Look for Kidz ‘n Cats dolls online and in specialty doll stores. They are high end play dolls – averaging about $150 each – but their quality is fantastic.
