At Toy Fair 2015, Tonner Doll introduced a new line of 18″ play dolls (you can see the original post here) and while at Toy Fair this year, I was able to get a closer look at the dolls myself (you can read the 2016 report here). I absolutely fell in love with the brunette doll with her deep brown eyes. Tonner Doll sent this doll to me for review and I am glad I finally got time to get her photographed this past weekend. Of course, Natalie gets the credit for the photos 😉
The MyImagination 18″ doll line are solid vinyl – no soft bodies – but in this particular case, I really like it. The dolls have a nice weight to them and are solid – you can tell they are very well made. They are not as slim as the Carpatina dolls – which reminds me – I need to do some comparison photos with her, too.
The MyImagination dolls come dressed in basic polkadot dresses and white sandals. Their eyes have a more realistic almond shape and as a result, they are not “sleep-eyes.” I think this makes them look a little more grown up. Her hair is very high quality and very easy to work with.
In addition to the dolls, Tonner has released some fun outfits for the dolls inspired by some of the licenses they have and are working to obtain. As you know, Natalie is a HUGE theater fan and Wicked is one of her favorite shows. This outfit is a fun modern take on something Elphaba might wear.
It is a dress with a witch design on the front and fun polkadots on the skirt.
But, can I just say that her funky tights and sparkly shoes are my FAVORITE!
You can see the rest of the line and all of the available outfits at the Tonner Doll site. I will work on taking more photos of the MyImagination doll next to other brands and I think a “Who Wore It Best” version of the witch dress is definitely in order.
So, I decided to add this photo. I put Ruthie in the MyImagination outfit and it fits perfectly. The shoes fit beautifully, too – no issues at all. I think the green looks great on Ruthie!
PS – the gorgeous chaise lounge is from The Queen’s Treasures.
