We had our first “real” snow of the season today – one big enough to cancel school so the theme of today’s Throwback Thursday is perfect winter sports outfits.
McKenna and Nicole braved the freezing temperatures to have their photo taken on a fake ice rink made of aluminum foil on the picnic table. Nicole is not too happy with me as she doesn’t even have shoes on!! They are modeling the Two in One Ice Skating outfit from 2005. I haven’t put this outfit on anyone recently but as soon as I took the skating dress out and put it on McKenna I was instantly reminded of Saige’s Sparkle dress!! The waist band has the exact same criss cross pattern. The sequins on the ice skating dress are sewn on – not an iron on like Saige. The black catsuit that Nicole is wearing looks cute with the sparkly shrug.
And a close up of McKenna and Nicole before they freeze!
From Hannah - Here is a picture of Ivy modeling the Snow Board Outfit from 2004. It had a snow board available for purchase, but I didn’t feel I needed it.
And the Ski Trip Outfit from 2002. It came with white furry mittens and a furry white hat, (I have them, but wasn’t able to put them on for the picture.) I love the quality of these two outfits and how well they can mix and match. The turtle neck from the ski trip outfit goes well with everything as do the pink leggings! It is one of my favorite outfits! One of the first I got when I started collecting the clothes in 2002.
Madelon shared a few photos of the 2002 Ice Dancing outfit which consisted of the very detailed ice dance dress, a beaded headband, bouquet, gloves, tights, skates, a medal and a little bear, too. What a great set!
A closer look at the detail in the dress and the medal.
The skates had light blue laces and came with skate guards, too.
Isn’t the bouquet pretty?
Next week’s Throwback Thursday spotlight is going to be on American Girl Lindsey and her collection. If you have Lindsey, PLEASE send in photos because I don’t have her. Please save me time by resizing your images to 540 pixels wide first and put THROWBACK LINDSEY in the subject line of your email to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
