While we are all still in Isabelle overload mode, I decided it would be fun to look at some of the retired American Girl dance outfits.

Marisol is working out in the 2007 Dance Team outfit as our cat knocks down all her friends!

Kanani modeling 2005 GOTY Marisol’s Spotlight Outfit.

From Molly M – Kaya has some great dancing dresses and Kanani and Saige are thrilled to help model them. Emily is digging the wiglet that came with the Irish Dance Costume while Nellie is rocking her Irish Dance Outfit of Today. Addy loves her African Dance Outfit of Today and little Kathleen is having fun hanging out with the “big girls.”

From Sabrina: Haley (#39) modeling the retired 2009 Tap Outfit. There were also a pair of purple tights and a glittery purple stick but both are really bad quality and have torn and broke.

From Granof4 – Samantha is wearing part of the Swan Lake set released in 2002. I don’t have the rest of this set. Bethany is wearing the 2-in-1 Ballerina set released in 2007. She is holding the ballet bag and the warm up pants are in front of her. The girls both wish Isabelle the best this year.

From Aubrey: This is the 2-in-1 Ballerina Outfit I got as a purchase with purchase at the American Girl store. I’m not sure what year it was from. The outfit came with a skirt and pants for two different looks, as well as a leotard, a wrap sweater, leg warmers, ballet slippers, and a silver bag with charms.

From Charlie H. – Lacey and Brielle are almost done warming up for their dance recital. Lacey is wearing the 2-in-1 ballet (2007) it includes a adorable pale pink leotard a soft ballet skirt, a black wrap sweater, leg warmers, a hairband,  fray yoga pants (not pictured) ballet shoes, and a silver bag with a heart dangle-charm. Brielle is wearing the jazz outfit (2009) which includes a shimmery pair of pants and tank top with sequin detailing, purple jazz shoes and two ponytail holders.

From Kelly – Emily models the Modern Dance outfit from 1999. It came with a crushed blue velvet leotard, a blue green wrap around skirt, removable puffy sleeves that match the skirt, blue satin slippers and a blue green scrunchie. It also came with a blue and green tote bag and a yellow water bottle. Emily look lovely in the outfit- it really brings out her pretty blue eyes.

From Livelovedolls– Saige is modeling the 2007 Irish Dance Costume. It also came with a hair piece but I have no idea where it is. This is from the MAG collection.

From Tony – Jane is wearing the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy ballet costume from the Nutcracker Suite. It is a light pink satin leotard with an attached pink tutu and sheer puffed sleeves. It has white lace trim and pearls on the bodice and pearls on the tutu. It also has pink iridescent wings that attach to the back of the leotard, white tights, and pink ballet slippers. The accessories are a tiara and wand with pearl bead trim and pink rhinestones. It also came with a program pamphlet for the Nutcracker Suite ballet, which I don’t have. The costume was retired in 1999. She is holding the little Nutcracker that came with the Holiday Accessories, which sold out last year.

2-in-1 yoga/ dance outfit retired in 2009. From Hannah M.

From Lauren – Kanani in her Luau outfit, my dog ate the hand shakers, so I am sorry for not including those.

Also from Lauren – Here is my Marisol doll, I have had her for almost nine years, and she is probably my favorite GOTY.

For next week’s Throwback Thursday we are going to feature a very popular play doll line that is now retired – BFC Ink dolls. You may send in photos of your BFC Ink dolls and their outfits. Please give as many details as you can – like her name to start! Please save me time by resizing your images to 540 pixels wide first and put THROWBACK BFC in the subject line of your email to me at share@dolldiaries.com.
