I love seeing how creative you all can get!! Elizabeth and her beautiful Ellowyne Wildes are back but in this adventure they have been in the American Girl dolls’ closet! American Girl dolls are 18″ tall and soft bodied. Ellowyne Wilde dolls are 16″ tall and slim bodied. Elizabeth shows how you can get creative to expand the wardrobe of your dolls by letting them share.
Hi! It’s Elizabeth again. My first two Ellowyne’s, Alice and Ann, were very excited when I told them that their cousin Clarissa was coming to stay with them. She just arrived today and here she is on right with Alice on the left. I think Clarissa is just stunning. She is Ellowyne “Uncomfortably Blue” but is looks anything but uncomfortable or blue.
In case you are wondering about their T-Shirts, those are actual American girl store exclusive T-Shirts made to fit American Girl dolls. Alice and Clarissa are wearing them however because of something that Ann discovered…
Ann was looking at some of the American Girl doll outfits I’ve collected and was really wishing she could wear them. The wedding dress I bought from The Queen’s Treasures had really caught her eye so she asked my American Girl dolls if they minded if she tried it on. They said that she could! So Ann did.
Ann was extremely excited to find out that American Girl dresses could fit her, just so long as they are pinned together at the back. She couldn’t wait to tell Clarissa and Alice about it (and also anyone else who would like to know:)
Alice: “This is a bit big!”
Ann: “Yes, at first. You have to pin it together fairly tightly in the back and then it fits. There is some bulk in the back when you do this, but just so long as you are facing forward nobody is likely to notice.”
Ann: “See isn’t that better?”
Alice: “Much better! Hey, aren’t there several American Girl Doll outfits? Maybe we could try on some more!”
Ann: “I’m dressed like Emily from the forties.”
Alice; “Clarissa and I are Kit and Ruthie from the thirties!”
Alice: “Now were sort of Victorian, like Samantha.”
Clarissa: “Luckily, back in the Victorian Era many ladies wore huge collars like mine”
Ann: “If you say so(Giggle). I’m dressed in Rebecca’s dress.”
Clarrisa: “Now to the Pioneer era, just like Kirsten!”
Ann: “These aren’t the official Kirsten outfits. Sadly Elizabeth never collected the official versions of these dresses and now they are retired. However these imitations she purchased recently are quite nice.”
Clarissa: “Now I’m Josefina! I love this dress!”
Ann: “And I’m Felicity! She and Samantha were Elizabeth’s favorite American Girl dolls when she was growing up. Elizabeth has the official version of this dress but I’m wearing an imitation because Elizabeth didn’t want to risk pins disturbing her retired outfits. Sometimes you can scratch or leave small holes in the fabric while pinning it in the back so it is better not to use pins with an irreplaceable or delicate outfit!”
Elizabeth: “I’m supposed to be Felicity’s best friend Elizabeth, however I’m wearing the Little Adventures Pink Parisian outfit. $16 on Amazon I think it is… And I LOVE it!”
Clarissa: “I’m all ready to play Yum Yum from the Mikado!”
Ann: “And I’m all ready to pretend I’m a black belt in Karate!”
Clarissa: “This dress from Carpatina is lovely! I feel very Tudor era.” (Note from Char – this was my inspiration to put my Ellowyne in the Celtic Princess gown from Carpatina – thanks Elizabeth!)
Photo shoot over, Ann, Alice, and their cousin Clarissa are back on display. Alice and Clarissa wanted to continue pretending to be Princesses and Ann was enjoying posing.. I mean, how many dolls are there that can pose like this! Ah, I love Ellowyne’s! I’m so happy I’ve found so many clothes they can wear. Special thanks go to my very kind American Girl dolls who graciously permitted their closet to be thoroughly raided to make this photo shoot possible!
Thank you Elizabeth for sharing these great photos of your gorgeous Ellowyne’s with us – and I think your new girl Clarissa is just divine!
