There are many amazing performances with animals at the circus. Our Caroline has been training for a circus performance with her horse.
They have coordinating costumes that are bold and colorful!
To make the costumes I chose a dance costume for the doll and made colorful accessories for the doll and horse. Let’s take a closer look!
- thin elastic chord
- sparkly fabric
- Puffy fabric paint
- Tulip Cordless Heat Setting Tool
- Tulip Iron on Crystals
On the horses back is a decorative saddle/blanket for the circus performances. Use a rectangle of felt and cut the ends to come to 3 points.
Add a little detail with dimentional paint like this Puffy Paint from Tulip. Allow the paint to dry.
I added thin elastic chord to the back to keep the felt in place when it’s on the horse.
Cut a piece of sparkly fabric just larger than the felt and layer the two on the horses back.
Now for the fancy headdress!
I had these red feathers already attached together on a decorative pick. You can also use loose feathers, tying or glueing them together in a bunch. Glue the base to a rectangle of felt. Glue strips of felt across the top to hold the base of the feathers in place. Don’t forget the thin elastic chord between the layers!
This horse is ready for the show!
Add a splash of color to a dance outfit so it is performance ready! We used a flower waistband to add the bold color!. It is simple to make by layering and glueing felt circles.
To add a little sparkle I attached a few jewels with a heat setting tool.
Now these two are ready to perform in the Big Top!
