As the release date for the American Girl of the Year – GOTY 2010 gets closer and closer, we are starting to get more clues as to who she is and what her stories will be all about. I think we can confirm that the name of the American Girl GOTY 2010 will be Lanie based on the screen capture of Chapters.ca website that was just sent to me by Hannah’s mom:

UPDATE – we have more info on the book storylines:
So, we still don’t have any pictures of Lanie, the American Girl of the Year (GOTY) for 2010, but we are getting more details based on the storylines from her books.
Lanie feels like she never gets to have any adventures, but her aunt helps her discover the wonders of nature in her own backyard.
When Lanie’s neighbor threatens to get rid of the garden, she must learn to spread the word about the benefits of natural gardening.
The books are available for pre-order through Amazon and have a release date of December 28, 2009.

You haven’t seen a picture of her yet because AG is keeping her under wraps. My cousin (who works for AG’s design department) has seen her, but she can’t tell anyone about what she looks like because she’s under contract and will get fired for it.
No one got a peek of Chrissa last year until a cupon was found in a DVD case and shared by the person who bought it. AG made sure even the puzzle couldn’t be fast forwarede to show her by making three of the squares a part of the pic.

Life of Faith dolls are beautiful! American Girl dolls look like something you could buy from Target. But they are pretty cute
Trust me on this, the Target dolls are much cheaper quality, and their faces aren’t nearly as cute as AG.
Do the Target dolls even have cloth bodies? I’ve only seen them in their boxes at Target.
I still think the ALOF dolls are MUCH better and prettier.
Better? That can be argued. I love my LOFs, but they lack the hugability of AGs.
Prettier? That can also be argued, but they are beautifuly painted and sculpted (they have real toes instead of the flat feet of AGs).
Yes, OGs have cloth bodies, but their arms aren’t strung so they can only move their arms up and down (AGs can move back and forward) and their sit is not ladylike (feet don’t end up together when sitting, but spread out) That’s also a problem with LOF’s, but that’s because their are all-vinyl.

Her personal taste may not match yours. She said Lanie is cute and thinks I’ll like her, but she really coudn’t say more.

Chrissa’s puzzle had a very disappointing result. I remember thinking “Is that it!? Really?”
Chrissa’s puzzle had no result. The three sqaures that they put on there so we couldn’t see her stayed that way until Jan 1.
They would have done better to include Gwen and Sonali in it, then we could be all “OOOOO!!!!! She has a new face mold!!!!”

I really enjoy Stephenwodadancer too, you can learn a lot from watching her videos, I learned how to rewig my Kirsten doll from her videos.
Bubbles, a Julie movie was only heard about once last year, never again. It was more than likley scrapped.
