Sunday Showcase October 14

Are you ready for our Halloween costume parade? I will be getting it started later today, but in the meantime, enjoy some of the beautiful photos and videos that have come into my inbox this week!

From Charlotte: Kanani is having a sleepover woth Barbie dolls Vivian and Stella. With mini nail polishes and lip gloss, this is bound to be a great sleepover!

Madelon made Chrissa a no-sew poncho for these chilly mornings using the instructions from one of our 100 Days of Doll Play posts.

Emily was one of the winners in last month’s Reader Photo Contest and she was kind enough to send in photos of her doll modeling it.

Last weekend our Canadian friends celebrated Thanksgiving. Here is Julianne’s Lanie showing off her beautiful fall dress she purchased from an Etsy seller.

This summer aglover was the winner of the BFF Doll Company doll we did a giveaway for. She has taken the time to do a comparison video and thought you might enjoy seeing the differences between the dolls.

From Allyson – My mom got this doll from a swap a couple years ago and I recently found it in my closet! She loves to enjoy the view from the window sill!

This is Jessica a Gotz Happy Kids doll. My friend and I decided to dress her up as a Bollywood star, and we think she is sooo cute! From Ava and Nadia.

From Diana - Here is a picture of an outfit I found yesterday at Walmart as part of the “My Life As” collection.  It is a gymnastic outfit and it comes with everything except the flowers, I made those. It fits McKenna perfectly although getting the sleeve ends to go over the hands was a little tricky.  It sells for $9.97 and I thought some of your McKenna fans would enjoy it.  I am very picky about the sewing of outfits since I sew and make most one of a kind outfits for my dolls, but this one is well made and the shoes fit too!

Madelon found this cute doll baking set for $16 at K-Mart as part of the What a Doll line.

From Celeste: These are all my dolls dressed in their Halloween costumes for this year. From left to right (top) Ruthie is a princess- she is wearing a princess dress my grandma made, Samantha is a cheerleader- she is wearing a Build-a-Bear cheer outfit that I altered to fit AG dolls, Kit is a pop star- she is wearing a Build-a-Bear shirt and the MAG capris. From left to right ( bottom) Sienna#38 is a Gardener- she is wearing an Our Generation Gardening Outfit with Julie’s swimsuit top, Kanani is Dorthy from The Wizard of Oz- she is wearing a dress I made and the 2011 AG Christmas outfit shoes.

From Laurie: My brother’s lunch came with this American Girl-sized Tabasco bottle and he thought of me when he saw it.  Isn’t it cute?

From Venus - This is my AG doll Ivy having a tea party with my Amazing Ally Interactive doll. Ally was released by Playmates Toys in 1999.  The floral poster background was their idea.

From Sharry – Better late than never…here is a pic of my dolls on their first day of school. From L-R: Sunny, Raychel, Juilie, Susan and Stephanie.

From Sheila – Cecile & Chrissa having fun with their Autumn crafts.

We love seeing what you make for your dolls, adventures they have, and great finds. If you would like to submit your photo for next week’s Sunday Showcase, here are the basics:

  • RESIZE your photos to 540 pixels wide (this is easy to do using one of the free tools www.picmonkey.comipiccy.com or fotoflexer.com)
  • Email your photo to share@dolldiaries.com (it must be your own photo – do not take photos from someone else’s site and submit them as your own)
  • Put “SUNDAY SHOWCASE” in the subject line (I get a ton of email & this will help ensure yours makes it in)
  • Make sure you include a description or caption for your photos

PS – Don’t forget to check the sidebar for all the giveaways we have going on right now and enter!! Also, check back later this afternoon for the kick off of the Doll Diaries Halloween Parade!

  33. Venus says:

I really liked McKenna’s leotard in Diana’s picture. Heck, I loved everyone’s photos! You all have cool ideas, like the tiny Tabasco bottle and those cool doll-sized lunchboxes. ^_^ I just have one question, though. I know that Our Generation and My Life As doll clothes fit AG dolls, but what about Springfield Collection and Madame Alexander clothes? Sometimes I think their outfits look too small for AG dolls, but I’m not sure… :/

  34. Char says:

Springfield Collection and Madame Alexander clothes fit AG, too. Journey Girls are a bit too small, though.

  35. Venus says:

@Char Speaking of which, the FAO Schwarz clothes for 18 inch dolls are also too small for AG’s. I learned that through personal experience… -_-

  36. Jill says:

I might be getting McKenna when I go to the ag store in February for the first time because it is hard to go there for me because I live in scotland

  37. Natalia says:

    Adorable pictures everyone!!!
I’m going through a problem. When Mckenna came out, i didn’t like her. She was boring and not creative at all. Now I’m dying for her. I want her soooooooo bad! She’s so adorable, and I woudl like her starter collection and maybe her bed for Christmas. I don’t know if I should ask or not. What should I do????

  38. Kaelah says:

I love the last picture! It was soooooo cute and the pic was taken beautifully!

  39. Michele says:

I love seeing the Sunday Showcase. Everyone did a great job!

  40. Skye says:

Diana awesome flowers! How do you make them? Great pictures everyone!

  41. Bailey says:

Venus- Where did u get Ivys outfit?????????

  42. Venus says:

@Bailey Hello! Sorry that I’m replying like two days later! :P Ivy’s skirt, stockings, and boots came from Rebecca’s School Outfit. The pink Rebecca Bonbon shirt came from Build-a-Bear, and I used hair clips to adjust it so it wouldn’t look so big on her. ^_^
