Just a quick heads up – the server that Doll Diaries is being hosted on is having some intermittent issues – hopefully they will get it figured out soon. So, if you get an error message, just give it a few minutes and try again.
Since the server has been giving me issues all morning, I am going to publish this post as is – before the whole thing disappears. There are about 7 more photos I need to add – if those are yours, be patient – I will try to get a part 2 post up this afternoon.
From Erin H – In this dress she reminds me a lot of my great-great grandmother. She was a seamstress as well as a midwife. I couldn’t think of a good way to curl Grace’s bangs without running the risk of damaging the doll so I left it as is.
From Wendy – Girls compete with each other. Women empower one another.
From Sheliya – Hear are some dolls that I made over the weekend. They are rag dolls with yarn hair.
From Agnieszka – Anastasia (Shola) on a Sunday walk in town.
From Eva K – Kit is a “Young Reporter” exploring the world by taking notes about everything around her. See the rest of the adventure on my blog AmericanGirlUtopia http://americangirlutopia.
From DanceDayz – Elizabeth and Felicity – Best Friends.
From LillyBlossom – This week I made a tutorial on how to sew an Ariel inspired outfit for dolls! See the steps here on my channel: https://www.youtube.
From Caitlin – Just checking if there are any grapes…
From LuluDoll – Here is a picture of my Saige wearing her new black & white outfit.
From Pauline N – I just got my Vinyl body 18 inch doll from Harmony Doll Club. I think she has a beautiful face. She plans to attend Camp Doll Diaries this year.
From Fawn – Armed Forces Day, May 16, 2015 – On August 31, 1949, Louis Johnson who was US Secretary of Defense, announced the creation of Armed Forces Day to honor Americans serving in the five branches of the US military – US Army, Navy, US Marine Corp, Air Force and Coast Guard. The theme of the day was “Teamed for Defense” which expressed the unification of all military forces under one government department, The Department of Defense. Today the day is celebrated across the nation with parades, open houses, receptions and air shows. To learn more you can visit: www.defense.gov/afd/history.
From Cordelia – Katherine and Rose have dressed in their summer dresses to welcome the warmer weather.
From Madelon – May 16 is Love a Tree Day!
From Tony – Kanani was exploring the beach and she found a cute little sea turtle. She kept an eye on it until it went back into the water.
From Camille – A family member brought me this from church and it’s a really cute lovable stuffed animal and a picnic basket and as soon as I got it I just thought that It was a perfect size for my AG dolls! The picnic basket has a removable top that allows you to put food in other goodies inside of it! That’s really cool! The stuffed animal is also articulated the shoulders and hip.
From Sharry – Hi DD Readers! Julie has been invited to Danny’s house. (Don’t’cha love his room?) Can a girl play with 2 boys without being driven crazy? Find out on Julie’s blog: Julie Newman’s 70s Time Capsule: Playing at Danny’s House
We love seeing what you make for your dolls, adventures they have, and great finds. If you would like to submit your photo for next week’s Sunday Showcase, here are the basics:
- RESIZE your photos to 540 pixels wide (this is easy to do using our favorite photo editing site Picmonkey)
- Email your photo to firstname.lastname@example.org (it must be your own photo – do not take photos from someone else’s site and submit them as your own)
- Put “SUNDAY SHOWCASE” in the subject line (I get a ton of email & this will help ensure yours makes it in)
- Make sure you include a description or caption for your photos
- Please just send in ONE photo per week for the Sunday Showcase so I can include everyone’s photos. If you have something longer or want to submit more photos visit the Get Featured page.
