Happy Sunday!  Have you got all your holiday shopping done? Better yet, have you started the countdown to the new American Girl of the Year debut? So, no spoilers on Doll Diaries until we get the go ahead from American Girl – and YES, we are working with their PR team again and will have some awesome GOTY 2016 news and fun coming up soon! Also, if you are planning on going to any of the American Girl stores for the big debut, we would love to share your photos and reactions. We will be at the Washington DC store (Tyson’s Corner) on January 1st and would love to meet anyone else who is going that day, too.

Now, let’s take a look at what your dolls have been up to.

From Happy House of AG: My dolls decorated their house for Christmas this past week! They all wish you a very merry Christmas. See more pictures here, on my blog: https://happyhouseofag.wordpress.com/2015/12/16/deck-the-halls/

AG Thanksgiving

From Nicole – Although we are closer to Christmas than to Thanksgiving, we are reminded that we should never cease giving thanks.   Like many others, my daughter and I were interested in learning what the pilgrims really wore and authenticating our doll re-enactment.   Caroline and Veronica (Truly Me #53) don their colorful pilgrim costumes and share bread with Samantha who plays the role of a Wampanoag.  For the meal itself, though, our dolls preferred  modern-day traditional fare complete with turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, yams and pumpkin pie.  At last, our Thanksgiving scene is finally packed away and our Christmas scene is beginning to take shape!   A Christmas tree lot awaits the “girls” and their quest for the perfect tree!

From Eleven Doll Stars -Pennylane (right) and her cousin Skylar (left) got to meet their favorite gymnast, Gabby Douglas! Pennylane and Skylar are both being treated at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for Dolls for their stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer. They think that childhood cancers need more than 3.8% of government cancer research funding! You can read Pennylane’s day in the life at St. Jude here:http://innerstarag.blogspot.com/2015/12/a-day-at-st-jude-photo-story.html

We love seeing what you make for your dolls, adventures they have, and great finds. If you would like to submit your photo for next week’s Sunday Showcase, here are the basics:

  • RESIZE your photos to 540 pixels wide (this is easy to do using our favorite photo editing site Picmonkey and it saves me valuable time and web server resources)
  • Email your photo to share@dolldiaries.com (it must be your own photo – do not take photos from someone else’s site and submit them as your own)
  • Put “SUNDAY SHOWCASE” in the subject line (I get a ton of email & this will help ensure yours makes it in)
  • Make sure you include a description or caption for your photos
  • Please just send in ONE photo per week for the Sunday Showcase so I can include everyone’s photos. If you have something longer or want to submit more photos visit the Get Featured page.

Have a great week and a very Merry Christmas!
