Samantha’s Historical Case at American Girl Place Chicago

So, I realized that there are still a bunch of photos from my American Girl Place Chicago trip that I have not posted. Below is a picture I took the first weekend in May – just prior to the release of Rebecca. The historical vignette case from the Samantha collection was the last piece of her display to be removed from the store. I was told it was about to be removed so it could be replaced by the Rebecca display.

Historical vignette case from American Girl Samantha collection

I love these vignette’s they do for each of the historical dolls. It really helps tie together the actual history and items of the time period with the dolls and their stories.

More of my photos coming soon!

  3. Anne says:

I don’t think they should have removed all of Sam’s displays, but I guess they needed more space.

  4. Abby says:

I loved Sam’s bridesmaid gown. It’s my favorite AG outfit ever.

  13. Lily says:

. . . and my Samantha is wearing it right now. I’m glad I bought it before it was retired.

  14. Sara says:

Ya, I love that outfit so much!!! Now I lost the DVD of her movie!!!!! :( And I really want to watch it!!!!!! :(

  15. Anne says:

Really? I don’t really like that outfit for some reason, thought the movie version was beautiful!

  16. AG&FAN says:

I wish AG actually hadn’t even retired Sam and still released Beckie! Sam&Nellie were so beautiful!

Phooey, the last Samantha display case makes me so sad… I loved those display case, with windows. They were so like ones in museums-maybe even better.

  17. Sara says:

I agree!!!! I loved looking at those when I went to Chicago!!!! I loved Julie’s the best!!

  18. Lily says:

Originally, I didn’t like Samantha’s bridesmaid dress either. It seemed too cheap, shiny, and Barbie-like. But in person, it’s very pretty. That color of lavender is perfect and I love the frills.

  19. Lily says:

Oh, and I also didn’t like the bridesmaid dress because it seemed like there were too many holes in the hat and you could see her hair through it. It’s less severe in person and I never notice since my Sam is displayed up high.

  20. Lena says:

Thought you’d want to know. New stuff = up on AG

  21. Bookworm says:
