We went to the fireworks last weekend so yesterday evening I enjoyed sitting out on the back deck relaxing – and doodling.
I took out a handful of our Tulip Fabric Markers and a few plain white doll tees from My Doll’s Life and started doodling this flower. I took the inspiration from a doodle on the side of the marker and then made it my own. I started with a swirl, added big petals, made small insides of the petals, added the purple petals, then thought it was still missing a few things. It needed a stem and some polka dots for fun.
I was so happy with my first one, that I made a second one – same concept, slightly different final product. I think that is one of the things that makes this quick craft so much fun – every one will be different and there is no right or wrong way to create your design.
Saige approves of her new t-shirt, but she just gave me another suggestion… she thinks it needs some bling. Maybe this afternoon I will use the Tulip Glam-It Up crystals and the heat setting tool and put bling over top some of the dots.
This would be such a fun activity to do at a birthday party, Girl Scout troop meeting or neighborhood gathering. You don’t have to use t-shirts only – you could decorate the visors from Springfield, mini canvas bags, bandannas, pillow cases, and the list goes on and on!
I really want to go make some more of these t-shirts now, but first I need to work on the Camp Memories post from this week. Doll Diaries Picks of the Week will be back next week (it’s on an every other week schedule for the summer, I think).
Have a great day!
