Welcome to Camp everyone!! If you have ever been to camp, you know that it is so hard to learn everyone’s names on the first day – but name tags are a great help! There are SO many different ways you can make name tags for your campers, but I wanted to share a really quick one today.

Camp Doll Diaries - Name Tags

Julie has her name tag on so all the girls know her name now! When she is not wearing her name tag she can put it on the end of her bunk or hang it on her bulletin board of camp memories.

I actually thought that since this is Outdoor Explorer week that it would be cool to use wooden discs for the name tags but I don’t happen to have one on hand – and if I don’t, chances are, you don’t either. Don’t limit yourself to my ideas… take a look at what you have on hand, use my post as inspiration and make some fun name tags.

To make simple name tags like the ones I made you will need:

  • Scrapbook paper, fun foam or another surface to write your dolls’ names on
  • Scissors
  • Sharpie marker
  • Circular scrapbook punch (optional, but handy!)
  • Hole punch
  • Aleene’s Tacky Runner or Aleene’s Glue Dots
  • Clear packing tape
  • Ribbon or string

Step 1 – Cut out or use your scrapbook punch to make a circle that is about 1-1/2″ across. This is just a size guideline! Make your tags what ever size you want and what ever shape you want!

Step 2 – Write your doll’s name on the tag and add any stickers or embellishments you may want. I just happened to have stickers from a Laura Kelly planner that work great, but you could also cut out a picture and use Aleene’s Tacky Runner or Glue Dots to attach it to the tag.

Step 3 – Tear off a piece of clear packaging tape that is at least twice as long as your tag is wide. Place it on your craft surface sticky side up and place the tag on the tape.

Step 4 – Fold the tape over to “laminate” the tag and then trim off the excess.

Step 5 – Use a hole punch to create a hole in the top.

Step 6 – Thread ribbon or string through the hole in the top of the tag and then tie it around your doll’s neck.

Julie, Autumn and Jasmine are ready to go meet some new friends at camp!!

NEW!!! We are going to be creating weekly CAMP MEMORIES posts. They will be put up bulletin board style and will not include names or descriptions – just photos (so watermark yours if that is important to you!). If you take photos of any of the projects you make this week and want to be in the CAMP MEMORIES post, email ONE photo per week to TEAM@DOLLDIARIES.COM and put CAMP MEMORIES in the subject line. Please note, this is a separate email address just for Camp Memories. For everything else, please use share@dolldiaries.com.
