The court of Disney Princesses was joined by Anika Noni Rose (“Tiana”) and a host of celebrity guests as Tiana was officially crowned the ninth member of the beloved Disney Princess Royal Court. INGREDIENTS:
3 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup water
1 egg, beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vegetable oil, for frying
Confectioners’ sugar, for dusting
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a medium bowl, combine 23/4 cups of the flour with the sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg. Whisk everything together.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, water, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir in the flour mixture from Step 1.
3. Use some of the remaining flour to dust your work surface. Place the dough on it and pat it into a large 1/2 -inch-thick square. Dust the top with more flour if it gets sticky. Next, slice the dough into 21/2 -inch squares.
4. Now it’s time to fry the beignets—be sure to ask an adult to help you! Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil in a heavy saucepan on the stovetop until the temperature reaches 325° on a deep-fat thermometer. Check the temperature every so often while cooking. If it gets too hot, temporarily turn the heat down, or off.
5. Carefully drop 3 dough squares at a time into the hot oil. Fry them for 3 minutes, turn them over, and continue frying for 3 more minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the beignets to a wire rack set atop paper towels to drain. Dust the beignets with confectioners’ sugar, and enjoy!

Oh thats real cool! They actually crown the princesses?! I wish I could’ve been there to see that. I would’ve loved it. I’m obsessed with Disney princesses.
GRRR…. MULAN IS NOT A PRINCESS! Get you facts right Disney.
Haha… does it look to anyone else like Naveen’s wearing camo?
I have made those beignets. They were good.
hey guess what!!!! i just found out that i’m going to AG denver on opening day!!!!
thts great! lucky you!!!!
i bet it will be awesome!
Okay even though Mulan wasn’t born a princess, she still holds the qualities of a princess and thats why shes on the line, because of her personality and how she speaks her mind. Shes a rolemodel for girls even if shes not a princess.
You copied that from wikipedia.
She’s not a princess if she wasn’t a) born into royalty or b) married to royalty. And those “qualities of a princess”, have you ever known real royalty? They tend to be spoiled brats (I don’t know royalty, but I do know a Polish senator’s daughter. Same thing.)
Well I don’t know royalty either but last year, the 5th grade at my school went on their annual Washington DC trip and my teacher’s former class SAW President Obama and he I think he waved at them.
So no, I was not there if you were wondering, but I DO NOT know any royalty- just wanted to clarify that.
I like in order:
Sleeping Beauty
Tiana
Cinderella
Ariel
Snow White
Uh I really do not like Jasmines outfit at all! But the one with the pink skirt red belt and blue top is pretty!
Who are you talking about, Grace?
In my former place of work, I heard from the girls in costume that they rather be Jasmine, Ariel (in mermaid form), or on the rare occasion she shows, Pocahontas. Why? Summer here is 100 degrees. Those big poofy dresses don’t get poofy by them selves. (yes, they wear crinolines, but its still hot in there)
Well I meant qualities of a person who actually deserve to a princess. These kind of princesses are actually supposed to care about others and are kind and do things for the people they love.
And I didn’t copy from wikipedia.
But you have your beliefs and I have mine. I’m just saying you don’t need a crown to be royalty. You just need to be a good person.
Like Mulan.
Even if its just a franchise.
I understand that but c’mon…I wouldn”t wear that. EVER. Micheala, the one to the right of Snow White.
That’s Mulan, Grace. And so we’re clear, she & Belle are my favorites out of this bunch. Tia probably’s high up there too.
Erica, let’s agree to disagree. (BTW, I read something very similar to that SOMEWHERE before)
I loved Snow White as kid. She is definitely my fave Disney princess
Didn’t see Princess and the Frog. It looked kind of…dumb to me. Did anyone who saw it like it?
It was actually pretty good, Ava. I didn’t want to see it at first either, but since my sister wanted to see it, that meant I had to see it too. It wasn’t the best movie ever, but it was okay.
i loved the princess and the frog. i thought it was really cute.
Hi. OK I am confusing Mulan for Pocahontas
Fine with me, Lena. I was just expressing my opinion and you were expressing yours. No harm done there. I definatly think we should agree to disagree.
BTW, My fav Disney princesses are Belle, Ariel, and Tiana.
I also like Princess Eilonwy of “The Black Cauldron” and Princess Melody of “The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea.
I comend you for knowing who Eilonwy is. Most people don’t know her at all, and don’t even know Disney made the Black Cauldron, although i supose that’s because it failed at the box office.
Ariel’s hair… just the hair is enough to like her…
Thanks Lena. Ya it’s sad that people don’t know what “The Black Cauldron” is. Its a pretty good movie still. I think Eilonwy is just the sweetest person there is!
Isn’t it funny how some people who know about her movie just love Eilonwy and then other people don’t even know who she is? Ha-ha I do!
Yes Aiel’s hair is gorgeus. And her voice. I’m jealous.
Haha, people either love her or don’t know who she is. She’s a forgotten princess, but then again Disney has a lot of those (Eilomwy, Kida, Tiger Lily, Megara, Jane, Marion of the top of my head… leave me alone, I worked for them!)
Sorry, in case someone doesn’t know one of those…
Eilonwy (The Black Cauldron) she is a bona fide Welsh princess
Kida (Atlantis) again, bona fide princess & heir to the throne
Tiger Lily (Peter Pan) she was refered to as a princess in the movie (& book)
Megara (Hercules) in some versions of the story she is a princess, or at least nobility
Jane (Tarzan) married to “king of the jungle”, so technically a queen
Marion (Robin Hood) in different versions she was either related of adopted by Richard the Lion Hearted, so still nobility
Anastasia, Odette, Chel, or people from Quest for Camelot are NOT Disney. I can’t tell you how many times I was asked “Do you sell an Anastasia doll?”
Is that were you work at Disney, Lena? In a doll shop?
also Kayley from “Quest for Camelot” and Thumbelina from “Thumbelina”. They aren’t Disney. I know I’m missing some.
I worked in a toy store.
Disney Girls ( (p) marks a princess or queen)
Jasmine (p)
Belle (p)
Cinderella (p)
Lilo
Alice
Tinkerbell
Wendy
Megara (p)
Aurora (p)
Shanti
Eilonwy (p)
Ariel (p)
Kida (p)
Jane (p)
Marion (p)
Pocahontas (p)
Snow White (p)
Esmeralda
Mulan (p)
Atta (p) {Ants, in case you were wondering)
Giselle (p)
Tiana (p)
Rapunzel (p) comming this year
This does not include non humans or little children who are obviously not a princess, or anyone from sequals
Non Disney Girls:
Kayley (Quest for Camelot)
Anastasia
Odette (Swan Lake)
Crysta (Ferngully)
Fiona (Shrek)
Emily (Corpse Bride)
Thumbelina
Miriam (Prince of Egypt)
Sally (Nightmare b4 Xmas)
Yeah, Disney got the rights to Nightmare, but I still don’t consider it a Disney movie.
They’ve made Miriam dolls? Sheesh, she’s from the bible!
What do you mean, Ava? I am a Christian and the movie was awesome and those dolls would be cool, IMO.
They didn’t make those dolls, those are just females from movies that Disney didn’t make and yet they keep asking Disney to make them.
Wow you put alot of work into that Lena but I thought Atta and “Ants” were Dreamworks. Am I wrong, I think I am.
You’re right, it is Dreamworks. I put her in as an afterthought, so that’s why it says no non humans yet she’s there. My mistake.
Ha-ha I was wondering.
i love Belle, she’s my absolute fav. When I was younger I really liked Aurora, but i guess I’ve grown out of that or something. Ariel’s voice is amazing. I also really liked Mulan, but i really disliked the second one. She was a great character.
Shanti…from the Jungle Book??
i like Lilo and Tink alot too, i dressed up as Tinkerbell when I was 5 for halloween. lol
i like Jasmin’s attitude, she’s different from the other princesses
I’ve never liked Cinderella’s dress
Anyway, I love your list, Lena
hi everyone my favorites are belle and snow white the movie snow white was on last night did anyone watch it?
But why does it matter if Miriam’s from the Bible?
Isnt POE from Dreamworks too?
Price.Of.Egypt
Yes, its Dreamworks. Its still not Disney but people think it is. That was the whole point of my giant list.
Theyre making a Disney rapunzel? aaaagh. Tiana ^ just ^ joined ^ the ^ group^ ^^^^^^^^^
It’s just my opinion, but it seems weird to make a doll from the Torah. Jews just don’t ever do that kind of thing.
Disney’s calling it “Tangled” to get boys to see it. But yeah.
3 princesses came out in the 90′s, Mulan, Belle, and Jasmine, in 98, 91, and 92, respectivley.
yes but thats a DECADE. This is not even two years…
91 Belle, 92 Jasmine. 2 years, 2 princesses.
rapunzel will be interesting…
i still can’t believe Giselle isn’t counted as an actual disney princess. She is awesome.
but my fave is probably Jasmine. i also like belle and ariel. (:
its funny i am one of 2 lenas
Giselle was meant to be a princess, but then they realized they’d have to pay royalties to the actress for using her image.
What do you mean Lena?
Lena means that since Giselle was made into live-action as well as animation, Disney would have to pay Amy Adams( the actress) to use her image on dolls, bed comforters, and stuff like that.
lol when I was 8, I actually had a HUGE crush on Peter Pan. OMG i would watch “Return To Neverland” anytime it was on and just gaze at Peter Pan. lol Still, u got to admit, Peter is pretty cute though lol. My fave princess used to be Aurora but now, I’m guessing mine is Pochohantis (bad spelling, i kno) and Jazmine. Ariel was great too. I’ve always wanted red hair…
