So a bunch of people got an email today from American Girl with a teaser picture of the new historical character, Rebecca.
Basically it is their sneak peek photo that gives us just enough of a look at her face to know she is going to have light brown hair, hazel eyes and a very cool velvet hat. She will be released May 31 and all the American Girl stores will have special events in her honor.

When I was at the Chicago store the employees were hush hush on the details of Rebecca, but I am sure the stores are getting ready for some rearranging to make way for her collection.

Firstie! She looks so much like Mia and a little like Nellie! Which is good, because based on the illustration, I thought she looked way too much like Samantha and Ruthie. I usually like PM dolls, but I might have to make an exception here!

She’s a pretty doll, but AG is known for bad lighting and photos, so her hair may not be so light. I personally don’t like her as Rebecca.
9thie! I am getting her in october, chrissa for my b-day in november and sonali and gwen for christmas . the reason I am getting two dolls for christmas is because my mom and dad said tey would get me chrissa wen she came out in January but they never did.

Char, her mold is almost positivity the Josefina. Look at how her nose curves over her eyes, the original does not do that so easily, if this makes sense.

I heard some AG employees at the Boutique & Bistro in Natick talking about Rebecca. They don’t think that she has a best friend but the employees didn’t know about Gwen and Sonali in November, so IDK.

Claire, she does have the Josefina mold. Look at how her eyes are shaped.

From this picture, she looks a lot like Mia, which I am disappointed about. The illustration of her had brown eyes and brown hair, but this doll has hazel eyes and what appears to be reddish hair. I love the hazel eyes, but I’m not so crazy about the red hair because a) she had dark brown hair in the illustration, b) that’s how I thought she’d be for the longest time, and c)I sort of wanted her, but I already have two red-heads and three red heads out of six dolls would be way disproportional and I’m the sort of person who cares about proportions, and it is too many anyway. ! It only looks like red hair from the little bit we can see, so I may be totally wrong. I hope I am.
I don’t know why AG would make her be red-headed in doll form, but if they were worried about making her look too much like Samantha, so they gave her red hair, they shouldn’t have been! She has a different face mold, different eye color, and no bangs, so she wouldn’t have looked like Samantha even if she had brown hair. Now, she looks a little bit too much like Mia, in my opinion.
And anyway, if she had brown hair, she would look like me.
Actually, from the picture Madi sent in you couldn’t tell what her eyes looked like. And keep in mind AG has bad photography, so she could just be over lit. Her eyebrows look more like Marisol’s color than Mia’s. Actually, judging by the reflection on the hat, I’m saying she’s over lit.
Well, I’m pretty sure her eyes are a hazel/green/Mia color. I like that color (it’s practically the same color as my eyes). But now that you point it out, she could very well have light brown hair, her eye brows are darker than Mia’s. I hope she is brunette, then I’d finally have a doll that looks (sort of) like me!

I know, my hair’s Marisol’s color, but my eyes are brown/hazelish (plus, green contacts), *and* I’m Polish (so close to Russia!) that she’s my mini me. Not to mention if I was an AG, I’d have the Josefina mold.

Hi, I’ve basically decided to get her by now, she is so pretty! But she does look like Mia and Nicki morphed together. But I don’t have Mia and I wanted to get her so now I can get a doll that looks like her. And I just found out that I won a contest and I get a prize of 100$! What a good day to win a contest!(I’m not trying to brag or anything) So, yay! I am so excited! Bye
Hi, I think she is going to have the Josefina mold and the hair is probably a little darker than Mia’s and probably shorter… We have a Just Like You Doll (Daisy) and Mia with those eyes… They are very pretty but sometimes they might look a little “washed out” comparing to dolls with darker eyes or blue eyes. I am looking forward seeing the rest of the doll and the outfit. Oh, I think I like the hat.

Thanks for telling me about Ana, Lena! Although if Rebecca has hazel eyes and caramelish hair, then a future Ana in 2011 or something might have Samantha/Ivy eyes and darker hair so they won’t look too similar.
I love the ribbon on the hat, but it does look a little like something from Alice in Wonderland…(why Alice in Wonderland? IDK. It just reminded me of that.)

Hey I just had an idea. You know it looks like Rebecca has the Josefina face mold, well I was looking at some of the other dolls and I think she maybe has Kaya’s face mold! Kaya’s mold has the same eye thing as Josefina’s, and since Chrissa and Julie (two newer dolls) both have Josefina’s face mold, AG might use Kaya’s mold! What do you think? Do you think it could be Kaya’s mold?? I can’t wait till we can see her! =D
Ag has bad photography???!! no way! I say pictures can be deieving, but ag takes some wonderful pics! I think she’s cute, her skin a little more olive like mine and the hat and the hairs adorable. i just checked my email and found this, i cant wait!
AG does have bad photos. Not every thing, but they do have some dab ones.
Kaya has a very round face that I’m not seeing here. I doubt it’s the Kaya mold.
OMG! I have been waiting ever since i found out about Rebecca to see at least a small part of what she will look like. Every bit of info i found out about her i just HAD to tell my little sister because its 7 days til her b-day and it would be awesome if she and i saved up money for Rebecca and got her! —-Her hat looks adorable! Plus, it took me a while to figure out her eye color. Is it grey? green? light grey blue? And her hair looks light-ish brown. Which i am happy about because my sister and i only have 1 doll out of 4 with brown hair! (1 is a redhead,1 is a blonde, 1 has black hair and then 1 has light brown hair). AHH! i cant wait!

She could have ANY mold. I think the Sonali mold would be cool.
Bookworm, it is possible to tell by how the nose is shaped. See how it archs over her eyes?
It could be Sonali mold, but I kinda doubt it.
She looks like she has the Julie/Elizabeth mold but with olive skin, hazel eyes and curly brown hair (lighter than Samantha’s). I can tell by the eyes/eyebrows. She looks just like Elizabeth but with different coloring.
Once again, I’m certain she has the Josefina mold.
