If you just can’t wait a few more days to get the new American Girl Caroline Abbott, you can actually pre-order her now at the American Girl stores. YouTube user SuperInkyMarina was at the American Girl New York store yesterday and took photos with her cellphone of the catalog pages. Here is the YouTube video she made of the photos:
I just love her navy blue winter coat and ice skates! What about you?
Also, Ana at Bonggamom Finds was one of the mommy bloggers who often gets to review the American Girl products early and she had fun dressing her Caroline up in Felicity’s clothes – modified a bit to give more of a Regency style look to them. You can check it out here.
For those of you who are getting Caroline right away or going to the store to see her collection – take photos! And send them in to me at share@dolldiaries.com. We will not be getting Caroline right away. There are two other American Girl Historicals that are on the list to join us here first – Molly and Ruthie.

It would Karen K! I love Marie Grace!
So amaaazingly lovely! Thanks for putting all this stuff up–you keep my blog going right now.
And I found summaries for Caroline’s books, if you go to my blog (link in name). Hint hint.
so has anyone thought about what ag is retiring next??????
Molly. She’s the oldest, and judging from the speculation from Rebecca onward, she’ll be a 1950s doll. Because that’s what yo all clamour for every time.
I would love to have caroline. that would be a dream come true. no wait, a miracle. sigh. but i’ll defintly be trying to get most of her collection.
lena, i don’t think molly will be retiring next because well here just watch this vid. heres the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmO8vmH0LBg&feature=related and so thats why i think she wont retire, i think its like a patten.
Caroline’s book covers are now on Amazon. I love her paper doll set.
Lena – that is good to know
Yikes! I live near AGPNY and I can’t go. Uggh. I would have loved to get the purple dress (not sure what it’s called) for Samantha. She is the only doll I can’t shop for because no outfits avaliable doesn’t match her. Also, can someone give me the link of the My AG new stuff?
Tiara, Char posted about it
If you call AGPNY can they ship her to you?
yes they will
Ug, the H key is sticky! Use this comment for my blog.
Cool! Time for a lemonade stand!
she’s really pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I dont know which doll i should get when i go in October…Mckenna or Caroline…
I’m so getting Caroline!
I just LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE her outfits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has anybody been able to order Caroline from the LA store?? I really want to buy her and her birthday dress!
my mom got surgurey on her foot and she has to go to a doctor in new york every other tuesday and the docors office is like a block away from AGPNY so i might get caroline on tuesday!!!
I absolutely love that she has a cat (crazy cat person here!). Not as creative as a piglet albeit, but I’ll take it.
My favorite outfit is the parlor outift still, and I also really like the Holiday Gown and her nightgown. I like the ice skating outift, just minus the skates. AG really gets you there… if you want the mittens and boots it’s an additional $22. $32 is a little pricy for just a coat and hat. I also think her accessories are lacking, but her bonnet is cute.
All in all I love her still, but I have too many blondes. I’ll either be getting Rebecca, Molly, or GOTY 2013 I think.
Awesome!
have you seen basilmentos blog post on caroline she says looks like a barbie blonde hair blue eyes i agree i think caroline is so un-original
Temple: new hair style, new eye color. What’s unoriginal there? Her colection does look like Felicity’s, but styles didn’t change that fast back then.
i dint watch the video i wanted it to be a suprise
What’s a doll release like?
There’s a contest on my blog! If you have time, please enter! Just click on my name!
will they make a new doll every year
THERE NEEDS TO BE A 50′S DOLL. THAT’S ALL I WANT. caroline is SUPER pretty. She reminds me of lanie. I want the 50′s Doll have a poodle skirt for her meet outfit. i imagine a 50′s doll to look like lindsey, GOTY 2001. Idk why
we need a 50s doll or 2000s
She’s unoriginal in that there are a zillion fair-skinned, blond-haired, blue-eyed dolls out there on the market.
That said, I don’t mind it too much, though I’m hoping that the next doll will having a slightly more uncommon hair/eye combination.
I’m guessing that Molly will be retired, and next year we’ll get a 1950s doll to ‘replace’ her era.
I don’t think we’ll see a 1980s doll until the children of the 1980s are of the age to have 6-10 year old daughters – probably another 5 years or so off. I bet we’ll get a 1880s Wild West doll first (at least I hope so!).
i love everything in her collection! but 300 is pricey for a parlour set…
I love Caroline!
Hey everyone, rest assured AG is not retiring anyone soon. I worked there this summer and they said not for awhile. I preordered Caroline’s cat and can’t wait for him to get here! I’ve also seen Caroline in person and she’s really pretty. Her eyes are like sea green, gorgeous! For her Christmas dress she has a headband that is braided hair, pretty cool!
I love everything of hers!
Wow so beautiful! cant wait for her to be relesed on the website so i can see her properly, but sadly will not be able to get her till christmas due to not having any money and $70 shipping price to england! yikes! but will DEFINATELY be getting her then!
Eva, thanks for making me feel young! I’m a child of the 80′s and I have nieces and nephews 6 weeks old up to 12 years old. My baby sister was born in 1979, which would make her about 5 or 6 during the time period AG would focus on (around 1984-1986). But now she’s the mother of 5!
So they could totally make an 80′s doll, but I kind of hope they wait a bit. Almost all of the decades of the 1900′s have been done; I would like to see more of the 1700′s and 1800′s.
I love everything about her collection. She does remind me a lot of Felicity even though their time periods were 50 years apart. On a you tube, someone made her redheaded and raven haried, and it made me glad they didn’t make Caroline Strawberry blonde, for she would have looked just like Felicity but with curls!
Lydia looks like the doll I hoped Caroline would look like. The funny thing is, I found a blonde Gotz doll on ebay a couple of weeks ago and named her Lydia Margaret, and last year I bought Dell and named her Delilah Caroline. So I have a blonde Lydia and a brunette Caroline before I knew the characters would have these names! (I just love those Jane Austen-esque names).
