The dolls of summer are beginning to arrive in stores! Everything from new Hearts for Hearts, Monster High dolls, BRAVE dolls, Bratzillaz, and One Direction dolls to the cutest dolls in the under 12″ category – La Dee Da dolls!
The La Dee Da dolls are made by SpinMaster (think replacement for Liv) and are about 10″ tall. We haven’t bought any yet, but the fabulous MyFroggyStuff has a great review video that gives you plenty of up close video and her take on this cute new line. I just love their big eyes and fun fashion! They would make great dolls to take on the go.
This is my favorite in the collection so far – it’s Dee Meets NY.
From the FAO description of Dee: Meet Dee, the ultimate City Girl! She and her BFFs started a fashion label called La Dee Da. This outfit is inspired by her hometown. Josy and Erica–I agree! I think, and really for a child’s doll, that dolls shouldn’t be wearing heavy makeup. It’s bad infulence (I don’t care to correct my misspelled word,) for when the child is older. If you wouldn’t want your daughter to look like that, then why would you give her a toy like that?
Also I think it’s kinda annoying when the doll’s head is bigger than her body. ;p

Maddie – I have to agree with you about the makeup. I much prefer my dolls to have a natural look, because I think everyone is beautiful in their own way, and they don’t need makeup to show how beautiful they are. : )
Maddie- Exactly what I was thinking! Maybe they’d be more aproprite if they made them a bit more elobrate and made them collecter’s dolls

Pretty Irish AG – I don’t think any American Girl dolls are retiring this year, but Molly is almost sure to retire next year, to my dismay. I love Molly.
I think these are cute and unqiue remind me of the bottle pop girls dolls from a cou=ple or 10 years ago or so
Serena – we had a few of the Soda Pop dolls.
I love the La Dee Da girls! I love the wild makeup and outfits and I think they’re just fine for kids to play with. It’s a parent’s job to teach children that toys are just toys. They’re to be played with, not emulated. And there’s really nothing wrong with makeup either. I wear dark makeup. That doesn’t make me a bad person.
These dolls are really pretty! I prob won’t get one, but I do want to see them in person.
They are nice dolls, but they have a lot of makeup. I don’t think it should be good for kids.
Ps: Lori-It is not ok to have a doll that has a lot of crazy of makeup.
