American Girl has added some new items to the site this week. Some of the new outfits include a surf/swim outfit, a zebra striped safari dress (zebra stripes are very popular for this age group right now!), a raincoat and boots set, Easter/Spring dress, a new ice skating dress and more.
So, what are your thoughts? Which outfits/new items do you like? Which ones will be a pass?
Personally, I think the new raincoat and boots set is just the cutest thing ever!

hmm…I’m not a fan of one with caramel hair…but I’m totally into Lizzie,Ruthie,and Julie.
JLY #39 comes in about seventh,eighth,or nineth.
And I see that some of old members are gone…Or they just stopped commenting. so that’s why there’s less comments lately,I think.
I would love to have a 25 with gray eyes. Her brown eyes would swap with my Ruthie, so Ruthie can have her “real” eyes. My mom just says, ” If someone we meet can do it, then I’ll let them do it. It also depends on the price. If it’s too expensive, we are NOT doing it.”
So far, no luck finding anybody.

i like the caramel haired doll because besides her, there isn’t one with that shade of brown. Nicki had it, but she’s retired.
Ruthie’s eyes in the book are clearly brown. AG gave the doll gray.
Oddly, the caramel haired one (39) looks like my OC Genevieve. The character was made before the doll came out, along with her looks.
I wonder why AG did that to Ruthie.

Kailey is 17,and Lindsey? Probably 19 or 18.
Notice how most of the characters are teenagers by now(not that they’re real).
The GOTY bdays aren’t specified. But you’re right, they are mostly teens.

And why didn’t they change the JLY outfit this year? Well, I have a Nov. 08 catalougue and it said the Star Hoodie was new. So maybe this November it’ll change.

Yeah, expect the meet to change this year, either in summer or fall. I only really liked the 04 one. The 06 one was way too pastel for me.

No girl was born in 1998,I guess. In Chrissa’s story,it mentioned that she was ten years old and is in fourth grade,so I’m sure.

I think it will be cute if they have a t-shirt(Maybe like top part of Lanie’s dress),jeans,sneakers or Converse sneakers(like Mia’s,of course),
and something else,maybe a cardigan?
PLUS It’ll be also cute if accessories includes a messenger bag. Yes,not cheap cell phone,and bag that doll can only use in doll’s left arm(or hand).
I also think star hoodie outfit is not great. See that shirt inside the dress?
It would be great if it was seperate,although it will be hard to put the dress over it.
And I have the accessories set,and I think it’s really cheap. Cell phone can break easily(yet you can put it back easily,too).
Mia was born is 98, she just happen to pass her birthday between the 1st and 2nd book, I think.

I really don’t like the star hoodie. I love first two sets of meets (I have 1 of them) they are GREAT for mix&match. I wish the new meets were like that too.
I hated the ‘I like your style’ outfit. I hated it so much that I decided not to even get a JLY that year, because i didn’t want that outfit at all! I have never seen such a tacky color combo! Also, the shirt was not a very common apparel for modern girls at the time. I’m sorry, everybody who liked it.
no, i think nicki was born the year before…i think (im not sure, at all, i haven’t read Mia’s books in forever) that the second book took place a year later, so she was older. I dunno, but she and nicki were born different years i think.
