New American Girl Items

Some lucky souls have already received their American Girl catalogs for fall that have the pictures of all the new stuff. Unfortunately I am not one of those lucky souls – yet. Here are some scans of the new catalog that Claire found: http://s952.photobucket.com/albums/ae4/luvmytwins02/

My thoughts so far:

  • Rebecca’s collection is just classy. The sofa -divine.
  • I have to say I love Julie’s bike. The table is very appropriate for the time period.
  • Chrissa’s snow gear is nice, too – but I really wish they would come out with another Chrissa book as my daughter has read the first two cover to cover already.
  • The Bitty stuff is okay. Nothing really special.
  • The holiday dress is nice but it’s not the best one to date.
  • The new JLYs are all very cute and will be nice additions to the collection.

I’m sure I’ll have more to say once I see all of it on the web site.

  1. Keanna says:

    I wish I had Lissie…

  2. Anne says:

Sara, guitar is sometimes considered the easiest instrument to play badly and the hardest instrument to play well, if that makes you feel any better :) . But all instruments have their hard and not-so-hard aspects.

Keanna, I wanted Lissie for a while and just got her for my birthday this past June. She is wonderful! I hope you get her soon!

  3. Sara says:

Thnx Anne! But, I kno I will get it. In a year! lol! But I like my instructor so I’ll get it!

  4. Anne says:

That’s good. A good instructor that you like is important.

  5. Anne says:

    Good night!

  6. Sara says:

    Nite!

Oh, and I kno I’m repeating myself, but, a couple days ago, my best friend’s grandma died. I think the funeral is tomorrow. Plz keep her and her family in ur thoughts!

  7. Sara says:

clikkee namee! This is a really interesting episode!!

  8. Lily says:

Good night! Wish me luck on my history test tomorrow. I am too tired to finish reading the textbook so I’m going to have to speed study during lunch.

  9. Lily says:

Another day without any comments! We need some Girl of the Year news to talk about.

Remember to click on my name!

  10. Anne says:

Wow, Lily, some of your auctions are going pretty well, considering how low you had to start the bidding! I wonder why the middy dress hasn’t gone up – it’s a Samantha outfit, after all. I hope you did well on your history test! I really hated speed studying during lunch…that brings back some bad memories!

Sorry to hear about that, Sara. My mom’s friend’s mom died the other day, too. :( .

  11. Lily says:

I couldn’t speed study last year since most of my core classes were first thing in the morning. I hope I did well on the history test since I have a low A. My A in Algebra 2 is already out the window. We got our quizzes back today. I got a 75, and people sitting around me got 57, 54, 54, 12, and another somewhere in the 50′s. Yes, 12. That was not a typo.

I think the middy outfit doesn’t have more bids because the photos aren’t showing up in the search results. The photos are there on the actual listing, but I think that the lack of photos in the search results could hurt me and I’m considering ending the auction early. Please advise, Anne!

  12. Keanna says:

i think i have a math test tomorrow*groan*. i loathe math, even if i try my hardest i still can’t get it.

  13. Anne says:

I am the same way, Keanna! But I think I am getting it and actually starting to like it this year! About time, too!

I honestly don’t know what to do, Lily. I’m no ebay expert! Just do what you think will earn you the most money. Or maybe just leave it and see what happens.

I remember that happening in my old math classes, although I was always one of the people with 50%, not 75 or 12. I know someone who once got a 7% on a math test! You seem very smart, though, and maybe it just wasn’t your best test. From what is seems, you still have one of the top grades. Be at least a little happy about that! Any hope that the teacher will do a re-take because of all the low scores? Some teachers do that, others don’t.

  14. Lily says:

I’m in Pre-AP Algebra 2; the teachers aren’t very lenient. They’re not curving the quiz. It’s going into the gradebook as is. Everyone is doing badly in that class right now. Hopefully I will scrape by with an A, although it’s unlikely since my grade was an 84 before the quiz. This year is going to be really hard. I need to go finish my homework. I cannot wait for the weekend!

  15. Sara says:

Any1 taking Spanish? I’m getting an A+ in that class!

  16. Lily says:

I am in Spanish 3. It is really easy, I think. My lowest 6 weeks grade in any Spanish class was a 95. I could take AP Spanish Language next week and Lit the year after that, but I don’t want to.

  17. Anne says:

No, I took Spanish 1 a few years ago and did very well in it, too. I loved my teacher, and I actually loved the amount of work she gave us. We really learned a lot that year.

  18. Anne says:

    Hi, Lily!

I don’t really have numbers anymore – it’s just a series of classes I find that I want to take. I really want to become fluent, though. I, unlike my parents, am naturally good at Spanish. They think it’s great that I want to be fluent in it.

  19. Anne says:

Good night! Hopefully some people will be on tomorrow (myself included)!

  20. Lily says:

I wish the numbers could disappear from school. Really, my life would be so much easier. I could sleep longer and easier.

After taking it for 2+ years, I’m getting tired of learning Spanish. All we do is conjugate verbs and more verbs. I would take AP Lang and Lit, but that’s formal Spanish, not the type of speaking that will help you in the real world. I don’t need those classes so there’s no sense in killing myself over them. Besides, I don’t want to have to take even more AP exams. By the end of my senior year, I will have taken 6.

  21. alexis says:

did any1 else get an e-mail from mywallaby???

  22. Sara says:

No, I didn’t. Yay! No soccer practice or games!!

  23. Anne says:

    I’ll check, alexis!

  24. Anne says:

No, looks like I didn’t. I did, however, get an email from AG. I think it’s something advertising Chrissa.

I wonder when the GOTY 2009 stuff will sell out…

  25. Lena says:

Anne, it usually sells out right before christmas. The exception being jess, who was selling way into February.

  26. Char says:

Alexis – everyone who entered the myWallaby giveaway should have got an email from me on behalf of myWallaby – as a thank you with a special offer included.

  27. Anne says:

Wow, she sold for a long time! When did they release Nikki then, if Jess was still being sold in Feb. 2007?

  28. Anne says:

I mean, were they sold at the same time?

  29. Lena says:

Nicki was released I think in early jan. Yeah, they were selling both for the same time, as jess was a poor seller.

  30. Lily says:

I remember ordering Jess’s pajamas from the AG website on New Year’s Eve, right before Nicki was released. They removed her from the website pretty soon after that, but I’m sure there were leftovers.

  31. Lily says:

And remember to click on my name! There are only a few hours to go.

  32. Anne says:

I see you got that picture working, Lily. And you’ve got some pretty good sales going for you, I think! I hope they all turn out well.

Do you sell things on your parent’s account? I want to sell some stuff on ebay but my parents don’t have (or want) an account and I can’t get one until I’m 18.

  33. Sara says:

    Any1 on? I’m bord.

  34. Lily says:

Hey, Sara. I’m on for the moment, but I have six hours (minimum) of homework and studying that I need to get started on badly.

Thank you for the encouragement, Anne. I use my dad’s account on eBay. He made one five years ago but never really used it that much.

  35. Lily says:

And the photos have always worked on the actual listing (the page you see when you click on the item). The photo just won’t shown up in the search results. But the bidding is at almost $22 with several hours to go, so hopefully it will go for a good price.

  36. Sara says:

Hey. I have many bruises on both my legs from soccer practice.

  37. Lily says:

I have many mosquito bites all over my legs from running in grass three days a week. Bye!

  38. Sara says:

    See ya!

  39. sunbeemz says:

I got the ag clothes yestersay!

  40. Sara says:

    Sweet! Which ones?

  41. sunbeemz says:

The sweet Melody outfit, Julies Calico dress, and the winter outfit(new one!)

  42. Lily says:

Great choices, Sunbeemz. I love Julie’s calico dress. In other words, it will probably be on my Christmas wish list!

  43. Lena says:

Hey, Lily, I’m not gonna bid since I got the dress for 5$ off craiglist (dress, tam, whistle, boots), but I did snoop around and it seems those boots weren’t repaired. The originals boots came with the rounded heels.

  44. Sara says:

    Cool sunbeemz!

  45. Anne says:

Wow, Lena, that’s a really good deal! I love finding complete retired outfits that are cheaper than when they were sold directly from AG. When did you get it?

I really like Julie’s calico dress, too, but I won’t get it. I’ll just admire it from a far…it’s one of those things that I like but don’t actually want to have, if you know what I mean.

  46. Lena says:

I’m the same with the calico dress. I love it, but not enought to buy it.

I bought it a week ago, and its in very good condition. But then again, its from 2007.

  47. Lily says:

It sold for $48, which I am happy with.

  48. Lena says:

I know, I was watching it cause I was curious how much someone was willing to pay.

  49. Anne says:

Mine is from 2005 and it is slightly discolored around the white edges, despite the fact that I usually keep them in their meet outfits.

I’m like that with every outfit except the ones released for a doll I have. I’ll get it even if it’s ugly (in my opinion) just because it’s for the character. I’m just like that. But I can’t think of an outfit that I own that I absolutely hate (with the exception of the Gala Gown, of course), but there are a few that I don’t like very much and some that I like more than others. I only buy character dresses/outfits, regardless of how much I might like something else.

I came on just before that auction ended, Lily, and watched it end. $48 isn’t bad, especially considering the slow start and all.

May I ask, though: where did you get that Coach gift card and why are you selling it? Just curious.

  50. Anne says:

    That’s funny, Lena!
