Some lucky souls have already received their American Girl catalogs for fall that have the pictures of all the new stuff. Unfortunately I am not one of those lucky souls – yet. Here are some scans of the new catalog that Claire found: http://s952.photobucket.com/albums/ae4/luvmytwins02/
My thoughts so far:
- Rebecca’s collection is just classy. The sofa -divine.
- I have to say I love Julie’s bike. The table is very appropriate for the time period.
- Chrissa’s snow gear is nice, too – but I really wish they would come out with another Chrissa book as my daughter has read the first two cover to cover already.
- The Bitty stuff is okay. Nothing really special.
- The holiday dress is nice but it’s not the best one to date.
- The new JLYs are all very cute and will be nice additions to the collection.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say once I see all of it on the web site.

It has to be pictured/mentioned in the books for me to consider getting it. I like some other outfits that aren’t in books (Calico dress) but I can live with the other funky 70′s stuff I plan to get that were actually in the books.
And there are notable excetions, because I like to keep it meet, school, holiday, birthday, summer, winter, sleep.
Yeah, the Coach gift card is my sister’s. She returned a purse and could only get store credit. She’s selling the gift card so she can get cash to buy a Louis Vuitton bag. I’m making her pay the selling fees.
I’m not thrilled with what the rest of my stuff sold for besides the middy outfit. Kirsten’s checked dress sold for $90 last week (also without the hair ribbons) and I got $69.
The summer amusements and nature paraphernalia probably should’ve gone for closer to $90 also and they both were in the 60′s.
olly’s victory garden dress, also without the ribbons, sold for $156 a few weeks ago and I got $57.
Overall, the prices my stuff went for was okay; neither awful nor really high.
Time to go finish my homework! I have two tests and two or three quizzes tomorrow that I am absolutely dreading.
That was supposed to be “Molly’s” dress, not “olly’s”
I have to finish some math homework and then turn in for the night. I’ve got a math quiz tomorrow, so I need to study a little more in the morning. I also have an art test this weekend, and I’m not looking forward to it. It is one thing to learn what an artist does to make a piece work and apply it to your own art; memorizing every little think and spitting it out is a different matter. I have to do both and I am worse at the later. I am only really good as spiting out historical information.
I’ll be taking art next year. Right now I’m a writer for the school newspaper. It’s very easy and laid back, but I dislike having to practically rewrite articles after the editors make helpful suggestions.
Yawn. I’m going to study a little bit more for Algebra 2 then turn in for the night. Wish me luck. My grade on this Algebra quiz will probably determine whether there’s hope for me to get an A in the class or none at all. I’m really hoping that I don’t make a bunch of careless mistakes like I always do!
OK, good luck! I really hope you do well! I make silly mistakes, too. And then kick myself for it afterward.
I am taking an actual art course this year, unlike in middle school, where the teacher just gave you projects to do. We have projects, too, but they simple at the moment (it just started – I think they will get more complex). But with this, I’m learning the techniques and all, which is something I have always wanted to do. It is a series of workbooks that include reading, do-it-yourself examples to clarify the reading, projects, worksheets, practice tests, and a test at the end of each unit (there are 10 and it is a full-year course). I do it with three friends. We do the reading, some of the basic activities, and tests at home and then meet once a week to do the bigger projects and to discuss the test. It’s pretty interesting. I have to find out what my friends at school do for art. If I was in regular school, I would not get to take art there. You only get 2 electives a year, and I would have to do both Spanish and orchestra, which are both 1 credit. No room for art. I’m glad I get to take it and have it count for school!
The only reason I haven’t taken art yet is because there hasn’t been room in my schedule either. I’ve been tied down with Spanish and journalism classes.
Dang! Nobody has been on here all day!!
