We got our new American Girl catalog today and while there are some cute new matching doll and girl outfits, there is no Ruthie.
It looks like most of the new stuff is summer outfit related. The garden set for Coconut is cute, Julie has some new outfits for her May 1st birthday, and it looks like Bitty Baby got a few new outfits, but there isn’t much news about Kit’s movie or Ruthie.
So who has any idea when we will get more info on Ruthie’s release? Her books are due out later this month, but what about the doll?

I doubt she’ll be released now- the movie hasn’t been advertized on the cover of the catalouge, and Ruthie would also be on the cover. She’ll come out around the same time as the movie does.
The catalouge I got says, “Watch for the new motion picture, KIT KITTREDGE An American Girl, in theaters everywhere July 2!” up in the left hand corner. Maybe we sould email American Girl and Complain?

Ruthie will either come out May 1st or May 29th, I think it will be may 1st, but i have a question about Ruthie. Is she Christian or Jewish? I think she is a Christian, does anyone know? Ruthie will have Josafina’s face mold, brown eyes, nicki’s curly hair, but brown, and she will be in her yellow and purple dress, or a purple frilly one, and she may have freckles, put probubly not. This discription is what iam quessing it sounds right to me…what do you guys think she will look like?
Well, I hope she has the same face mold as Kit but she probably will have the one you think she’ll have. I want her to have chocolate brown ringlets, brown eyes, and come in her classic yellow dress. This is just what I want her to look like. Also I don’t think Ruthie is Jewish, probably Christian. Email AG and ask if you want.

Also, in Kit’s Surprise, Ruthie gives Kit her old Christmas dress. It also says that on the day after Christmas, Kit and Ruthie and their mothers have a “…tradition of going downtown the day after Christmas….for lunch at a fancy restaurant or to see a show.” (That’s not exactly what it says in the book, but it’s close enough.) So I think that Ruthie’s a Christian.

I don’t mean to sound cynical, but what good will a petition do? We know she’s supposed to come out, but they won’t tell us when. It’s got to be soon, if their bookseller site says that her book will be shipped this month.

yeha I’ve been waiting for ruthie evr since i was seven and my sis got kit, i just had a feeling they’d make her a doll and then they started making bff dolls and when i heard the movie was cming out i was so excited cause i knew theyd make ruthie and then seeing her book cover! oh you know what i mean. I slept with her trading card on my night stand and everynight i d say i know ruthies gonna come out, so im im over thrilled overwhlemed i guess! I’m 12 now almost 13
my mom would read kits books to me and i loved when ruhtie was in a part and theyd talk about her. i fell in love w/ her character and then i saw her in the pics of the book and i knew she was the doll for me.i might not play w/ them tht much anymore but i dress them up and have kits whole setup out waitin 4 ruthie, i know i never told you guys all this so here.
kits book was one of the first books ilearned ot read, just because of ruthie and her dreams of happy ending and fairy tales! It gets to me cause i grew up w/ her and he rmottos in my mind

And sorry Madisyn I don’t know how to post the link, I didn’t actually see it on AG I saw it on a website that a person who did see it on AG posted the pic, and blew it up big, I’d say it is definately Ruthie and she’s holding a dark colored bag with a hankercheif and has a pretty purple dress on and has dark brown hair (yay!) I’d give you a link to that website but you can only get on if you register, so… but anyway Ruthie is so awesome, it has to be her!!!! I am SOOO excited!
