I like Addy’s mold, and it represents what real African girls look like.
Other company’s black dolls are much more gorgeous than AG’s.

I have LOF Laylie and Karito Kid Lulu, and I have to say, Addy looks more African than them.
Let me check american girl website to see how Addy really looks like.
AG has bad photography. You should see people who own Addy, their pictures are better.
Oh well,Addy has more African look than any other A-A dolls,I guess. Others look bit far off the being A-A.
So what if AG has “too many” white dolls? If they have relevant stories to tell, then if shouldn’t matter what color they are.
A biracial doll would be neat, though. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: I don’t care what color a doll is as long as she is pretty and has pretty outfits. I actually like Addy and I may get her someday. I like her Sunday best outfit.
Becuase not all litle girls are white. I’d like to see more diversity the AG line, not just historicals.
If there will be audition for Julie movie,I think AG would place winning 4 girls to these characters:
1.Water Fountain Girls
2.Ivy(maybe.)
3.Joy(Sign Language is kind of hard to do for non-experienced girls,though)
4.Classmate(girl. I don’t know any other classroom characters than WFG and Joy.)
And I forgot to tell about it yesterday,but I went to B&N and I got AG magazine yesterday(I’m bit impatient.). I liked the poster. So cute!(And bookmarks.)
Since sun is what makes girls to ‘have feckles’,I guess AG should make freckles for girls who goes out/live in hot region.
You’re right, not all little girls are white and not all of the historical dolls are white. Another couldn’t hurt. I do agree that the GOTY needs to have some variety. Chrissa is plain as paper.
No, I know an Irish girl who has freckles, and she stays as far from the sun as possible.

I did love all three and for while I was intent on getting them . . . but six months later, the excitement factor has worn off and I’m leaning toward Emily and Julie, or maybe Addy. She’d add some variety to my collection and I like a few of her outfits.

I don’t really like Chrissa, Gwen, or Sonali, but out of the three, Sonali is my favorite by a mile.

I love her hair! And Gwen? Looks bit like classic mold Julie-except about hair style.
Chrissa? Well,I don’t like her hairstyle. But I like rest of her! And one thing. AG will probably have to use ASIAN,or at least asian-related actresses for Ivy,or it would look weird! Some actresses even wear too much makeups or wig(bad),or hair color(bad)…I wouldn’t like that.

Anne,I don’t know any other ways to buy retired stuff than e-bay. You just need to get AG items fast when going-to-be-retired news comes out. Mostly,it can be found on this site. Like last one! And sometimes AG puts retired stuff on sale page-like this time. It included JLY I like your style outfit,holiday outfit,Bitty Twins stroller.
I liked AnnaSophia! She acted well.
And one thing,Sonali,Gwen,Chrissa are sooo not on my wish list now. I want to get historicals,not modern characters because they are close to JLY. And I’d have to buy JLY outfits soon as they retire. I don’t know about 2010 Girl of the Year. I wonder if AG still is writing story about 2010 Girl of the Year(I’m worrying about right now? Well…that’s kind of strange,but I can’t wait. But I don’t want to see her whole collection early,b/c I like to be suprised.
I don’t like to admit this,but actually,I don’t like Chrissa(not her collection. Gwen and Sonali dosen’t count either,I think.). Well,actually,I like Chrissa better then Lindsey,though. But yeah,I think AG should’ve made girl with other culture,look,and stuff. And it can also be about bullying. Different/bullying can be connected…so yeah,I think AG should made that story instead.
Chrissa’s illustrations are kind of bad. If you look at Gwen in the cover,then Gwen in the first illustration of the Chrissa Stands Strong book,it is sooo different,looks older. You also can compare with Chrissa book. Gwen looks soo different.

For Julie movie I hope AG picks a un-known,bright but not noticed,smart,quick,fun girl who loves AG and understands Julie(she have to read at least one Julie book to understand Julie,though. The other stuff featured in movie dosen’t count. You can’t tell Julie from what she says,or does. You have to read her thoughts,usually featured in book. (I think Abigail already know about Kit,since she already know about AG. I wonder if Sammi did. Rest,I don’t think they did know about it… But one thing,AnnaSophia is 1st choice actress in AG movie. She’s not disturbing or anything…

i want to be julie in her movie,i’ve read all of her books twice,and i have the doll of her. i’m good at acting i think. i’ve been in a couple local and school plays,and i look exactly like julie! so,do you think AG would pick me for the role of julie/

I’d like to point out – again – that all the “confirmation” we have right now is an article that said the movie was in planning stages. Many movies don’t make it past this stage, and they may decide to do a different movie instead. Don’t get your hopes up so soon.
I agree w/ Lena. They might do a Kirsten movie next year and not Julie since she was released only 2 yrs ago.
I’m hoping for either Addy, Kaya, or Fina next, because it looks very racist of AG because so far all their movies have had white main characters.
wont they make moivies of every histoircal charcter. it helps them make more money form selling the dolls and stuff. and then they can make the collection slightly bigger. i dont care about the movies. id rather have the retired items from the histoicals collection availble.

Kaya would be a really good movie, Indians in movies are always exciting, except some people might not like the idea of the religious pow-wows and stuff.

I think Miley’s done too much racy stuff that AG wouldn’t want to hire her. A few examples are dating a 20 year-old, that Vanity Fair photo, a tabloid picture in which her shirt wasn’t very effective . . . I just all around dislike Miley! Her voice, her personality, etc.
But again, if AG used Miley as Tracy, all the little Hannah Montana fans would absolutely have to see Julie’s movie, which would mean more $$$ for AG . . . uh oh!
