No offence, AG Fan 4ever, but I’ve gotta say whatever! I doubt that they would read and respond 2 ur letter in three days. It usually takes MORE then three days to send a letter! Besides that it’s not that easy to get a store made/put up. AG place tells you that their gonna make a store. You don’t tell them. I’ll believe it when I see it.

I hope they make a JLY that looks more like me – and I hope the outfit we saw is the new outfit – cause it’s soooo CUTE! And, it’s almost September 1st! Did anyone notice that the catalog prices expire on August 31st? Whenever it says that it ussually means that they are going to make some new stuff around then!

Marcia, I’m suprised that Kaya and Josfina will get new outfits, too, cause they haven’t gotten anything in a LONG time! Who are the other two historical outfits for? I wonder if they’ll make Ruthie a Christmas dress? Some of the outfits for the JLYs will probably be Christmas stuff, too, cause don’t they usually make that stuff around September or October?

OMG! I just made the CUTEST dress for my AG dolls!
About the store in Lacey, you can proposition to AG about having a store built in your state. You just have to prove that it will create enough profit to be worth building. If he does talk to AG, it will at least get them thinking about the possibilty of a store in Washington, and that’s a good thing!

All of my dolls are post-mattell, too – except my Marisol doll has a Pleasant Company neck stamp – but her tag and all of her clothes say Made in China for American Girl.
Is post mattel the new(er) ones?? Ya know what I don’t like?? When I got my Mia doll I realized you could squeeze her arms and feel the other side!! Before they were all hard??!! I don’t get it.. does anyone know why they are doing this? (I mean, it’s more real when you squeeze it, but why did they change them?)

Kat, yes, post-mattel are the newer dolls that were made after mattel bought out Pleasant Company in 1998. (For $7million! I think that mattel got the better end of the deal, though.
After all, they’ve probably made BILLIONS of $ off of it since they bought it!)

I’ve noticed that the newer dolls have softer plastic and are stuffed a lot tighter! (Although I think that I like the tight stuffing more cause my Marisol doll is starting to slump a little…)
Only 1 more day till Spetember 1st!! Are the new items really coming out tomorrow, or are they going to come out September 2nd? Cause tomorrow is Labor Day – so I wasn’t sure if they’d update the site tomorrow or not…
They probably will update 2morrow, but you never know… I hope they do!
I don’t like the tight dolls. I took some stuffing out of Mia, Nicki, and Ruthie, because their clothes didn’t fit right.
And now that you say something, I just checked, and Kit’s plastic is firmer than, say, Ruthie’s. I bent their fingers, and I can’t bend Kit’s as easily as i can Ruthie’s. I think they changed after Pleasant Rowland retired, but that was after Mattel bought the company, I think just before Kaya came out…..Nope, she retired in 2000, the same year Kit came out. So I think that Kit’s different because Mattel hadn’t fully taken over yet. Kit’s neck says Pleasant Company on the back.
GUESS WHAT! On the AGFMB where they said about the new items n everything – well, there are supposed to be OVER A HUNDRED new items RELEASED!!! But, it also said it would be released on Sept. 4th.
I guess it wont be a lot for each product line cause there’s books n outfits for girls and all that, too.

Oh, and Kat – a personal shopper is someone who works at AG place – and helps select dolls for u and stuff. A lot of the adult doll collectors have them.
The personal shopper service at AG Place is free. It is well worth getting one before you visit. They give you a tour of the store, help you pick out your dolls and such, then take your items back to the personal shopper area while you continue to shop. You get to check out in their couch and comfy chair filled area rather than standing in line.
Its the only way to go.

OH!! The next time I’m at the AG place in LA (I’m going in 2 days! To visit my mom) I’ll ask my mom to get a personal shopper. We are also going to see some of the AG preformances since it’s closing down in 2 weeks (I think..). I still don’t get why their closing the theaters down!!!
hey guys im back i was at the brazilian festival yesterday at ny and we went to the AG store is it just me or r the dolls gettting smaller? maybe im just getting bigger! we saw the play Hair the music in it was amazing it was about the 70s julies time about vietnam war and younge men being drafted that means they would get sent to war. Hey i remember when dolls diaries was a small site it was me sienna marcia and oh remember mickey from australia and char of course im so proud of doll diaries it has grown so much and more ppl have joined now we r making even more friends!

Char, how do you get a personal shopper before you visit? Is there something you have to do, or do u just call and ask for one?

Ellie – All you have to do is call before you visit and ask for one. Once you have a personal shopper you like, you can always call them directly to let them know when you are going to be at AGP. It is also good if there is a purchase with purchase special going on in the store – you can call your PS and shop directly through them.

Yeah, I understand that for some of you who have Jess you are upset that they made a doll that looks just like her, and that she is no longer unique. I would be mad if they made a doll that looks like my beloved Mia. But I actually want that JLU because I didn’t have the chance to get her when she was out.
