Whew! That was a close one. I spilled orangey/brown paint all over my white carpet and we’re out of spot spot! I spent 40 minutes fighting the stain with a wet rag, toenail clippers, scissors, and a disposable razor. To me, it looks fine. If my parents notice, I’m dead! Time to dispose of the evidence and make sure I’m in the clear.
And I partially ripped back one of my big toenails in the process . . . and my toenail clippers have brown paint on them. Way to go, Lily

Also, if you need any tips on helping your dolls hair (Sorry Lena.. taking your job) I might be able to help you.
Just because you don’t have Kit doesn’t mean you can’t have her dress.
She looks beautiful in that dress, so if you like it, I suggest getting it.
P.S. do you guys wanna see Harry Potter and the Half – Blood Prince? it looks so good ive seen them all!!! plus this is the last Harry Potter! I read that the actor (Harry) and friends are getting to old to act in this and there giving him tons of money to be in this last movie!
I sort of like it but I’m not a fan of green. sorry, Lena. but I do like her winter coat and hat.
There’s still a mildly orangey streak in my carpet, however, it’s very very pale. I’m hoping that if you didn’t know what happened, you wouldn’t notice it.
Maybe next week I might send Char more pictures maybe of Kaya in multiple outfits/hairstyles. so many AG fans ignore Kaya!

Has anyone else ever freaked because they stained their carpet really bad? It’s not a pleasant feeling. I’m sweating right now from nervousness.

Not carpet. Worse, Mom’s wedding dress. I was playing dress up (when I was 7) and got a big stain on it. She was mad, but we got it out.
I didn’t tell her for 3 days though and felt horrible.

Yes thats happened to me before. I stained Cherry juice on our brand new rug and I cleaned it but it still showed a pale pink and I got caught and had to go clean the bathroom. (weird punishment, huh?)

My mom goes ballistic over a tiny dot of something on the carpet in an obscure corner. Sometimes, coming clean is a death wish. My parents would probably fine me several hundred dollars to replace the carpet and throw away my paint by numbers for a stain as bad as that one was. They overreact.
Can’t you tell I was desperate since I was going after my carpet with toenail clippers and a razor? The wet rag at first rubbed the paint in worse, but when I tried it again later, it worked.
I meant I liked the word “Thingymabobber”.
I heard that they wanted to finish with these actors because it won’t be the same if they replace them.

Since I’m a sophomore in high school, my parents would probably go harder on me than if I was a little kid. I don’t want to know my punishment.
The advantage of being older and wiser is you have a much better chance at covering up your mistakes versus a 6 year old.
Speaking of magazines… I’m always cheered up when I get new AG magazines in the mail! also about 9 days ago I figured out there is purple glasses! I need them because I have all the others!

I agree! my dog is really old but still goes to the bathroom in our indoor sunroom. the stains are hard to remove!
The problem was it was more of a willful mistake. They’ve told me not to paint in my room and I did. Oops. There’s nowhere else to go where I have peace and quiet. I’ll just be more careful next time.
. . . And I’ll also make sure we have plenty of spot shot on hand.
Now I have a split, peeled back toenail to show for my trouble. When I was running to find the spot shot, I jammed my toe into a cabinet. It doesn’t hurt too much anymore.
When I walked into my room just now, I couldn’t even tell where the stain was. I fought tooth and nail against that stain to save my tail.
I showed my mom Chrissa, Julie, and Emily. She really liked Julie (but isn’t going to buy her for me).

That’s really bad luck, Lily. Made a stain, stubbed toe really hard, no stain remover, had to use other, more difficult method. Yikes. Did your parents fond out?

My parents haven’t been in my room yet, so I haven’t really had the chance to get busted. I highly doubt I will, though, because I cleaned up the stain well. Thankfully acrylic paints (which will stain anything that’s not glass) respond well to water when they’re still wet. My toe is fine now. Thank you for the well wishes, guys!

Oh wow I’ve spilled sooo many things!! The worst was prob when i was 7 or 8, and my bff and i spilled like 10 bottles of nail poilsh in the bathroom, and worked for like and hr but it wouldn’t come up!!!! Then we got busted by my mom, and had to do abunch of chores and finish cleaning the np!!!
and at this party thing we had at my house, I had a sugar-free-cherry-dctr-pepper-float , and my mom said NO taking upstairs, but smart me, I’ve never spilled my drink!! I took it upstairs, and what do ya know? A 3 yr old comes in my bros room (I was playing video games) , pulls the table mat and it lands on a 12 yr old and the carpet!!!!!! Then the 3 yr old told everyone so they all knew i took the drink up there. The beige carpets still pink LOL!

Who ever asked about Beckie’s hair, I finger brush my Helena’s hair, and if it needs curling, I spray it with water and twist it around my finger and viola! I perfet little curl.

You’ll be in shock. Today i bought a dress that is VERY VERY frilly. And I mean, the skirt has layers of lace. And the lace is purple. Yes, I enjoy wearing frilly things (why do you think I own Elsie and Laylie? Sometimes frills are good)
That’s a big reason why I like the LoF doll collection. None of the stuff is plain, boring, or simple. Everything has layers, lace, and trims. I think I’m going to hold off on buying one of them (for now). I’d like to wait to see their new meet outfits.

converse is like $23 at target , cheapest like $15 .. they have a variety … I’ve been wanting to get some converse… some carmine converse would be nice.. but I don’t think they sell that color… *shrug* I’ll just get black.. or white… oh! Or grey.. i like grey.. it’s not really a light color, or a dark color..

Me too! She was my 2nd doll. After Kit. At Christmas ‘04, one of my relatives said I look like Samantha so she got Sam for me that Christmas. I was really excited!! I have even been to a Samantha Mystery Party!!! I was Nellie!! It was a lot of fun!!!!! Man, I miss Sam and Nellie.
But, then again, don’t we all?

I think the prices people are paying for Nellie are ridiculous, even though she is a nice doll. She was available for quite awhile after Samantha’s archival announcement. It’s kind of funny that people didn’t want to pay the $90 for her then, but suddenly are willing to dish out $180 now.
on the subject of expensive retired dolls does anyone know where i can find a great Lindsey doll under 150$ because i’v been looking on Ebay and those ones are way toooooooo expensive?

Lilly, if your parents will let you, you might try Craigslist in your area. Often you can get great deals on dolls beacause people don’t know their true value. It may take a while to find Lindsey, though. Not many of her were produced.

I voted for Felicity and Elizabeth. I know it seems odd since they have virtually no collection left, but if you look at the 1990’s catalogues Felicity had a lot of great items, from her town fair outfit to the work gown.
I also like the matching Felicity and Elizabeth outfits. Elizabeth’s meet dress is fabulous! Their stories are great.
Molly and Emily are a close second. Julie might become my new favorite once I get to touch that silky hair!

i think happy feet is OK but its not my favorite i got a little bored actually plus its pretty sad the only REALY happy part is at the end i would give it a B- or maybe even a C- but i havent seen it in a while so i wouldent trust me.

Yep. The movie is even dedicated to him cause he died during post production. He was an elephant seal named Trev. In a deleted scene, he was an albatross (an Australian bird I think.) but speaking as himself (documentary style) Anybody seen his own movie? I have and I love it!!

I will, I just get very annoyed when people insist it’s right to say “Josephina” when refering to that specific doll, then argue why it’s spelled right. You didn’t do that, and I’m happy you at least thought about it not looking right.
While were on this, the girls I sometimes babysit say Joe-suh-fina. No matter how much I corrcet them, and I know they read her books because they read them in front of me. What’s worse is that they ARE Spanish, speak Spanish, and still say her name wrong.

How is Kaya’s name supposed to be pronounced? In my head, it’s like the name “Kayla” without the L. I know that’s incorrect.
CS told me it’s Kee-yah.
I think in her books it said it’s pronounced “Kie-ya”
He books say Ky is the first sylable. That can be taken both a kee and kay….

I used to drink sprite but now it’s diet coke or diet dr.pepper. (diet thing’s a coincidence, diet dr.p tasted better than reg. and more flavored than diet coke. )

Hmmm, Harriet. I think of Steve Irwin when I say that cause he had a tortoise named Harriet. She was over 100 yrs old!!! She died a few months before Steve did.

I googled pictures of teacup poodles. They’re adorable! I have a large breed dog (golden retriever), but I also like sweet little dogs you can pick up easily. I’ve never heard of weimeraners. You have a big dog! He weighs almost as much as I do! (Keep in mind that I’m 5′8″)
im also 5′8”. slobber stands as tall as i do. he is really big!!
he ways 9 more pounds than I do!! LOL
I have a standard black poodle named isabelle… she can tackle a whole group a’ kids into the pool.. at the same time!!!

I found Lena’s idea under the discussion section. As interesting as it is, the whole “save the environment” thing is a tired subject by now. If that extended to global warming, the topic might step on a few toes as well. It’s a creative idea, though.
I know that the contest closed awhile ago, but I finally came up with a GOTY 2010 idea. A girl who was adopted from another country (somewhere in Eastern Europe, Africa, South America, East Asia . . . anywhere) gets the chance to visit the land where she was born with her adoptive parents. She gets the chance to work with other orphans and learns the value of generosity and compassion. When she gets home, she spreads it to her community and helps others where she lives. When raising money to help buy Christmas presents for less fortunate kids, someone steals it and it’s up to her to get it back.
Whenever I try on running shoes, it’s always a debate between the 10.5 and 11. I’m afraid that the 10.5 will hurt my toes and the 11 will give me blisters. In the past, I’ve always gone with the 10.5. Anything smaller is painful.

I just do track and cross country. That’s more than enough for me! Being on a varsity team is tough on top maintaining A’s in all Pre-AP classes. I hate school! I’m not looking foward to Algebra II, Spanish III, and Chemistry. Summer is heaven.

ugghhhh next year I have to go through latin AGAIN. I HATE latin!!! I’d rather keep learning french and italian!!!!! and all those other horrible classes… it’s the first year I’m actually going to an (private) actual school since… 2005??? IDK. And we have to wear stinkin’ uniforms… atleast they’re better than my last school and I can wear a tie.. but you can’t wear boots of any kind, even in winter!!!! plus, i don’t even get summer off (except for vacation, like disney for a week in may, and lake Norfolk this week) , and have to read a bunch of books like : The Jungle Book

poor selena!! i go to a public school and can wear whatever i want within reason. the only language we get to learn is spanish in 9-12.

so cool youre getting emily and julie! maybe it was on another thread, but in response to a comment abou LOF dolls, you could buy one and some clothes and she could be jewish. its just how it is maketed. if you saw a pretty doll and bought her and she didnt come with a book or whatever she coul be jewish like you. if a doll’s story is supposed to be any religion i would change it if i liked the doll.
i wanted kailey really bad when i was little. i wanted marisol too. especially since she was from close to chicago. i have a TON of family from chicago.

Well, my Rebecca’s hair is super really really thin, but I like how thin it is, because I have 7 other thick-haired AG dolls…..and I have REALLY REALLY thick hair myself. Also, the curls are really nice and….well curly! LOL.
I also got the sparkly hair pick, the rectangle glasses [SOOOOOOOOOOO cute on her!] her pajamas, her accessories, and her kittens!!!
