I got a note from my personal shopper at American Girl Place and according to her note, we have more clues on Rebecca:
They are debuting Rebecca on May 31, 2009 at the New York store.
Jackie Greene is the author of her books and will be on hand that day for book signing.
And they are doing some character events including:
New York City History Tour (Tenement Museum – which reinforces the clues that she is from Russia and Jewish and the 1914 timeframe)
- June 7th, June 29th, August 10th
- 9:30 Brunch flowed by Museum Tour from 11:30-12:30
- $75 per person
Behind the Curtains; the History of Broadway (Museum of the City of New York – reinforces what we know about her wanting to be an actress)

I think I’ll have to take a pass on this doll. If I get another doll, it will probably get a Karito Kid, ALOF Elsie, or ALOF Violet. Now that I have seen this doll companies, I don’t think I’ll get more AG dolls.

I have decided only brunettes for me, except MAYBE and I say MAYBE Julie. Other than that, all the dolls I get from now on will be Brunettes and Historicals. Sonali will be my last Today doll. After that, all historicals for me! I’ll probably only get like a few more any way. I’m thinking Ruthie, Rebeca, Josefina, something like that….

And while blonds can be pretty (Julie, my Luna, etc.) I really hope Rebecca is not blond. She probably won’t be, seeing as she’s a Jewish Polish girl. You never know, though. And also she probably won’t be blonde because the last historical character, excluding Ruthie, who’s a BF, was a blond (Julie.)

Actually, she’s Russian, but cultures (and languages!) are so similar, it’s not even funny. And most girls from that region ihave brown hair.

Have you seen Fiddler on the Roof? Its set in, like, exactly Rebecca’s time period and in the Russia area….its very good! (I’ve only seen my school do the play, but still, that was great!)

OKdoke!! GREEN EYES (lol) it is!! They’re going to be a darker green (I call it scaley -hehe!- green) like my own eyes (mine are actually more..um hazel or whatev that color is that looks different depending on what you wear. Like when I wear dark (velvet) green, then my eyes like totally green. When I wear natural colors, my eyes look goldish, and when I wear…well, other colors, my eyes are blueish-green!!
Hazel’s the color that changs with mood. I wear blue contacts, but my eyes are very dark brown.

I have blue eyes, my whole family does, and my vision is 20/20. I used to want glasses for some reason, probably because I’ve seen a lot of people wear them and it looks really cute on them, but now I am glad that I don’t have to wear them because I look really silly in them, hehe. GASP! omg, I just realized that my mom, brother, grandma and grandpa all have bad vision!!! I hope that doesn’t mean I’ll have bad vision when I’m older! Well, toodaloo! twilight is ok,i kind of like it but i’m not crazy for it. iv never read the books,but i have seen parts of the movie on youtube and it’s not bad. But it’s kind of creepy,you know,the vampire stuff. But it is ok,i rate it a 2/5 in points.

I believe you are right Priscilla. Robert Tonner has made some amazing Twlight dolls but they are not available for sale just yet. Oh my gosh!! I am SO excited for Rebecca!! And I was so right!! When we had the first post about her I said she should be Jewish and escaping the Tsar’s pogroms in Russia!!! I am so good!! Hee hee. I hope she has black hair and green or blue eyes too, that would be pretty. I just bought the Sapphire Party outfit when it was on sale, kirsten’s accessroies and Sombrita teh goat, only I am still waiting for Sombrita because she is on backorder until April 14 I think!

hey guys! geuss what? my neighbors are cheap! yay!(sarcasism.) So,ya,i’m collecting 4 american heart and nobody donated. oh well,although,i am still a bit sad. Lena,yes,you’re right,there is something wrong with the AG “hair ratio” thing! There is only 1 redhead! they should be ashamed of themselves,i mean,they can’t put a red or brown wig on a doll?!? I blame mattel,cuz they make Barbie,Barbie’s blonde,and that influences AG cuz they’re owned by mattel.
Well, the reality is that there are 5 brunettes for every blonde, and even less redheads.

Dear Doll Diaries This is not about the info that you gave us althought it is pretty exiting. This is about what she looks like. A few weeks ago I was exploring th internet and I found out what Rebbeca looks like. She has dark brown hair and eyes. She kind of has the same look as Chrissa her clothing is kind of like Addy’s and Kirstens but this picture I saw might not be it. The info they gave me told me this might not actually be her but this is what I found. Hope this helps.

Why does everyone want another blond Goty when there are already Nicki, Kailey, and Gwen, but not a non-white one when there are only Jess, Marisol, and Sonali? To me, this makes no sense. And as for the more red-heads, Nellie (yeah, she’s retired…) & Felicity & Emily are all red-heads of different degrees, and in real life, there are very few red-heads……

I work as a cashier in one of the stores. Yeah, it depends on when you go there, some lines for popular rides are long, but the one for not so popular are really short. BTW, here (in FL) they have princess dresses for dolls. They may have some there.
But there hasn’t been a black girl yet. There have been too many white girls, only Marisol, Sonali (and you’re not counting her), and Jess have been colored. And Jess is half white. After her, they can do another blonde.’

I must confess AG is getting much too pricey for my allowance budget, IDK when I’ll ever be able to get more. I want to make some doll clothes, but I can’t decide what I want to make yet, probably something historical for Felicity. How do all of you save for all this pricey stuff?
Well, I have a job, so all I can tell you is don’t spend on things without thinking it over. Do you really need it? Can you live with out it? Do you want it more that new doll things? Ask yourself that and it should help control spending. Other than that, try doing extra chores around the house, most parents give extra allowance for that.

You know what I’d love? If they made something like GOTYs, only with historicals. They’d be out for only a year, and cover the minor events in American history, or the ones that would be very hard to make into full dolls. Among theses I’d love:
A Pilgrim (not enough clothes for a full doll, she’d be like poor Kaya.)
A Titanic girl (Don’t forget, the Titanic only sailed a grand total of 5 days. She wouldn’t be enough for a full doll)
A Mafia boss’s daughter during the Appalachian Raid. (I’d have a reason to get 25 back and it would be interesting. The Appalachian Raid was when the public found out the mob existed in America in 1957)
My dolls don’t have religion in their little “town”. I am a strong a Christian, yet I don’t feel that I need to incorporate it into the doll world, although my dolls do have mini bibles. It would be cool if my dolls had like a youth group like the one we have at our church!

I’m back!! it was kinda boring though. Plus overall it was a 13 hr. drive from here to gparents in AK and back. lol for one of my bdays in FL i had a pool party (Dec.11) . I liked FL so much better!!! and i’m not used to any other weather (i lived there 9 yrs. about ithink!!) and as i’ve said so many times, TX is an oven!!! At first I actually had trouble breathing here!! At least FL had moisture in the air! And rain…oh I miss rain!! I’m tring to think of all the hurricanes we had while i lived there… (I lived in Panama city and Celebration FYI) all i remember was heather (only b/c it was my ballet teachers name!) and micheal or something…
i would hate livin in texas. i love alabama, and wouldnt move 4 the world. its wonderful here. u got all the climates that u can think of in 1 state. the part i live in is many woods, and close where the only mountain in alabama is at, Mt. Cheaha

HELP! I was playing outside with my Karito Kids Doll Zoe and I got something on her arm. It is not big, but I hope it won’t grow. I don’t think its mold. It might be mud. I ordered Gia from Italy and I have not received her. If you have went through this, know someone who has, or have read about it, please give me advice. I know about Twin Pines and might order some, but if possible, I kinda want a cheaper way to fix it! Thanks for advice.

They are both asian, but the one with bangs is really cute. AG’s know for bad photography, and their pics really don’t do her justice. I stongly suggest her.

It encourages girls to get a doll just like them, insted of a prettier one that’s different.) Anyway, 2002, 2004-06, and 2008 should have the other dolls. This is a good guide to their numbering.
