This just in!! No one has guessed correctly yet based on the first set of clues we posted about the new Maplelea Girl doll who comes out September 20. So, Maplelea sent us some more clues…
- She speaks two languages—English and a language that begins with the letter “I”.
- There are no subways, railways or highways on her island.
- She likes to go jigging.
This just in… Here is a piece of a visual cue.
Any new guesses? What do you think she will look like? Where do you think she is from?
Something tells me, Doll Diaries readers will be the first to know what she looks like!

I guess that she speaks Irish (Gaelic) and she’s Irish, too!
I’m guessing she speaks Inuktitut and lives either in the Northwest Territories or Nunavut.
Firstie!!! Can’t wait for her!
Secondie! I’m stumped!
She likes fishing, and speaks a language starting with I?
She could be an Inuit girl, an Indonesian girl, and Italian,or a Nigerian or Congoan (Igbo’s the language spoken in those two countries.)
She’s an inuit girl. Take it from someone who is canadian. She likely speaks Inuktitut, an Aboriginal language from Eastern Canada.
Although I’m not into Maplelea, I’m kinda excited to see who it is.:)
maybe shes italian
She’s Irish!!! “She likes to go jigging” and speaks a language that “starts with I”. It HAS to be Irish!!!
I believe she will be an Inuit girl from Nunavut, likely Iqaluit. “Going jigging” is not the same thing as dancing a jig. Jigging is a method of fishing, and the clue about no railways/highways/subways on her island fits Baffin island very well. I’m very excited to see her and her collection. Please let her have a new/modified face mold.
Caelen, how did you change your pic to the one of the flower?
I think she is icelandic and will have bleach blond hair and sparkling blue eyes.
Iceland is not in Canada. Neither is Ireland, Italy, Nigeria etc. Yes, people from those countries live here, but they do not have “proud Canadian heritage” like the Inuit people. It would be a serious faux pas for Maplelea to represent a non-native Canadian before a First Nations girl, and they know it.
Jigging, language that starts with I. She must be from Victoria, from an Irish family. I think her name is Siobhan, Lisa, Mairead, or Erin.
I think she is Irish and lives in the upper northern part of Canada. I think she might have a new mold red curly hair and green or blue eyes.
I never was really interested in this doll line but their molds remind me of a mixture of kaya and Marie grace.
I never said Nigeria was in Canada. And I know quite a few immigrants from Africa that are proud to be Canadian and of their mixed herritage.
That said, I do think she’ll be a first nations girl as well, but have to remind people that Alexi’s race was left ambiguous on purpose and she very well could be descended from Native Canadians.
Alexi and Taryn were left ambiguous on purpose so you could make up your own herritage for them.
Brianne’s family is Ukranian.
Léonie is French-Canadian.
Jenna is Scotish and lives on Nova Scotia.
So that cuts out any girls who live in Nova Scotia.
From the picture it looks like she will be a cupcake.
I wonder if that is a hat of some sort.
That looks like the top of her kamik. So nice!
Actually to me the picture looks more like part of a dress. For some reason I think she will have blonde hair and blue eyes. I’m not to big a fan of Maplelea but I am curious to see this new doll.
The picture looks kind of like the top of a boot….?
Sorry I posted that twice! It said “duplicate comment deleted, it looks as if you already said that!”
So exciting looks like I was wrong I can not wait to see her!
It’s either a hat or boots
Yup, she’s Inuit. Jigging was the give away.
I am not sure but I am sure I want her!
American Boy is the company in which I am hoping to create! The American Boys Collection is a line of dolls books and more about boys growing up in important times in Americas past. The first three planed characters are Sam Edwards 1905 who deals with child labor . Christopher Smith 1814 a young boy whom has recently moved to lousisiana from England and apart of the royal smith house. He deals with Slaves and the war of 1812! And last but not least Petter Larrison ( larr-eh-son) who is a pioneer boy from 1855 he lives in the town of brooksfeild , Arkansas. He deals with Russian Jewish immigration. So as you can see all the boys are from different ethnic’s and deal with important times that helped shape our country. I plan to release the company on thanksgiving but I need your help how can I produce the dolls and things and if you are interested in writing the books please comment below if you would like to help! I will also hold competitions latter in December for our new line which will be revealed in dec. But released in Feb. So thanks! ( the new line is American boy of 2012,2013,2014,etc.) you may pitch ideas for the 2013 one if you would like!
Like the other Canadian posters before me, I’m pretty she’ll be aboriginal, from one of Canada’s Arctic islands (no highways, subways or railways in our far north). The design in the picture certainly says First Nations to me. It looks like beadwork from a mukluk or mitten. She’s going to be unique, and gorgeous!
Are you really gonna be able to do that? I’m not an adult, but of course would love to help come up with story ideas!
I’m not sure how well an American Boy would sell…
Okay so your first project is to come up with a native American boy. Here’s what you need a short parahgraph describing the plot. What his meet outfit looks like and what he looks like. Thanks
I think that’s a kamik. It’s a type of beaded boot.
I think she is an Inuit girl and she speaks Inuktitut. Can’t wait to see her.
I think she is Inuit and speaks Inuktituk and she lives on Baffin Island up north.I hope I’m right!!
