Monster High Coffin Bean Review

Natalie here! A few weeks ago we were at Wal-Mart and since I had a Wal-Mart gift card, I decided to buy myself a few Monster High things. One of the things I picked out was the Monster High Coffin Bean play set. It was about $30 and I can’t believe all the goodies that were in it.

The Coffin Bean set comes with  a cash register, a coffee maker, two drinks, a cupquake, and a pastry dessert. It even comes with a little Monster High sized magazine for the dolls to read while waiting and a small apron for your Monster High doll that is serving the customers.

Here is another look at the counter. Plenty of shelves to put your Monster High goodies on.

The set also comes with a doll – so you get the whole coffee shop and a doll for under $30 – that is a good deal if you ask me! The Clawdeen Wolf doll that comes with this set is just so cute. I really like her.

The Coffin Bean set also comes with a counter, one red chair, a blue couch, and a table to put their food on.  The red chair definitely one of my favorite pieces!

Draculaura is ordering a cupquake and a special brew from Clawdeen while Operetta and Frankie Stein are relaxing with their coffee and treats!

For Christmas and my birthday I got the Monster High School, some more Monster High dolls and fashion packs so I will be taking photos of them and doing reviews of them soon.

Oooh, I like that Coffin Bean.
By the way, DD Ladies, has anyone ever seen the Draculaura Coffin Bean doll at Costco? There’s only, like, one Costco where I live but you have to sign up with them in order to buy things at their store, right?

  13. Kathy says:

    Great review, thanks Natalie.

  16. Maria says:

AWESOME! How many dolls do you have?

  17. Molly W. says:

Venus~yes, you have to pay a yearly membership fee to them to shop there-they make you show your membership card when you walk in. As far as the doll, I don’t know. I really, honestly, don’t care for these dolls. They’re just not as, well, innocent, as I like to keep my doll play. This set still looks cool though, as far as having all those pieces with it…..

  18. Venus says:

@Molly W. My mom doesn’t really like MH dolls either, lol. She just doesn’t like the whole theme behind them. I tell her that I just consider these dolls to be, like, parodies of these monsters… In a fashionista, girly way. ^_^

  19. Molly W. says:

Venus~your mom would probably find a kindred spirit in me ;)

  20. Venus says:

Lol, I should encourage her to move into the Doll Castle. ;P
She’ll probably go Ninja Mom on all the cleaning supplies the minute she walks in, though. My mom LOVES to have everything clean… o_o

  21. Dakota says:

i Dont like monster high much

  22. cordelia says:

Thank you for the review, Natalie–I like all the details you showed us.
I can see the appeal of this doll line because of all the accesssories and the fashions, but it just isn’t one that “speaks” to me.

  23. StoryTeller says:

Fun review, Natalie! Heehee, I like the spider cupcake thing. It almost looks like it could glow in the dark.

Venus– My mom’s really skeptical about MH, too. She gives me this funny look whenever I decide to buy one at the store and then mutters something like “Well, it’s your money…” : D
I like them anyway because they’re so unique and are a fun contrast to the perfect Barbie image. I’m also a fantasy nerd, so the fact that they’re based off of famous creatures from mythology and literature made them appeal to me even more.

  24. Megan!!!!!! says:

Storyteller~ dont take this the wrong way but i am kinda with your mom about “Monster High Dolls” i just dont get that someone would want a monster doll…..they just look creepy too me…… ( please no one take that the wrong way, its just my opinion. )

  25. Char says:

I didn’t like Monster High dolls at first, and they are not my favorite, however, I do see the thought and humor that has been put into the whole line and don’t mind them now.

  26. Gail says:

    monstertastic!

  27. Claire M. says:

I wish they had one in American Girl Doll size!!

  28. StoryTeller says:

Megan!!!– Don’t worry, no offense taken. : ) I know they’re not everyone’s thing, and when they first came out, my reaction was an eyeroll followed by “Oh, brother, here’s Mattel’s attempt to jump into the werewolf/vampire fad.” : D
Eventually, though, I picked up one of their boxes to take a look and decided they were pretty fun. The well-developed characters and the TON of details were intriguing, and, like Char said, there is definitely a sense of humor throughout the line.
But anyway, don’t worry about not liking them– we all have different tastes. : )

  29. Kaylee says:

Great review, Natalie, thank you!! Between my sister and I, we probably have about 25 MH dolls. They aren’t creepy to me, I feel like it has a great message. Even monsters can be normal people, be yourself, etc. Mattel really puts a lot of work into all the details and clothing to make them look like their parent monster.

  30. Maddie says:

    Ohh wow thats really cool!!

  31. Audra says:

I didn’t like the monster high dolls until I saw their specials on tv last year. Now, I think they are kind of adorable!
My favorites: Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Ghoulia, and Abby Bominable.

  32. Venus says:

@Audra My fave MH dolls are Draculaura, Rochelle Goyle, Toralei, and Venus McFlytrap. (Guess why? Lol!) XD

  33. Saigeluver:) says:

a good website for reviews and pictures is http://www.toyboxphilosopher.com the person does reviews most of the time takes the dolls out of the box and shows cool facts.
