Every girl at some point in life wants to look into a magic mirror and ask it something to the effect of “Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the most brilliant princess of all?” Here is a mirror you can make for your dolls to gaze into and dream up magical questions.
Supplies you will need for today’s activities include:
- Wooden Frame (check craft store, this one came from AC Moore for $1)
- Craft Paint
- Aluminum Foil
- Wide Ribbon or Metallic Mesh Roll
- Optional Buttons and Ribbon
- Glue or Adhesive
- Optional Glossy Top Coat
To Paint the Frame:
Step 1 – Take the backing out.
Step 2 – Cover the entire surface with a layer of craft paint. This color is Apple Barrel Fuchsia.
Step 3 – Add a second layer and touch up blemishes.
To Make The Mirror:
Step 1 – Cut a piece of foil larger than the backing that goes in the frame.
Step 2 – Glue the foil to the backing and wrap the edges over to cover completely.
To Decorate the Frame:
Step 1 – Wrap or glue ribbon or mesh around the frame. I used hot glue and metallic mesh from the craft store.
Step 2 – Add buttons or embellishments to frame. I used Sweet Blush buttons from my Laura Kelly collection.
Then put the backing in and you have a magic mirror for your dolls to put in their castle!
