Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you! For today’s fun holiday that my family loves to celebrate here is an easy craft you can do for your dolls. My husband asked me while I was making this why I am doing it in red (Red is Darth Vader’s Lightsaber Color) and my answer is this, my niece Hannah is a huge Darth Vader Fan and she will be getting this craft on her next visit so I made it with her in mind. You can make your lightsaber any color you wish.

To make your own you will need:

  • 1 toilet tissue tube
  • Duct tape in black, grey (or silver) and the color you choose for your light part of your light saber, I used red
  • Scissors
  • Your doll

Step 1- Assemble all your supplies and unwrap your toilet tissue tube like I have in the photo above.

Step 2- Roll it into a long angled log. Secure it with a piece of tape.

Step 3- Using the color you would like for your lightsaber, unroll a long piece about 12 inches of tape from the roll. Start at the tip of your lightsaber and wrap it carefully around the cardboard covering it completely.

Step 4- Unroll some grey or silver from your duct tape roll and wrap the bottom part of your lightsaber, you may want to tuck in the end piece as I did and put more tape over it.

Step 5- Use black tape to add details to your handle.

Step 6- Unroll 5 inches of black tape from your roll. Fold it in half so that it is not sticky, create a loop that fits over your dolls hand and fits the lightsaber tape that loop to the lightsaber and give it to your doll she is now ready to play!

May the 4th be with you!
