Karen here and my niece Thea and I had fun making these easy friendship bracelets for camp! When I went to camp years ago we would make a bracelet like this and then add a bead for each station we went to. Here is an easy tutorial for you to make a bracelet like this for yourself your friends and your dolls.
To make your own you will need:
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Beads if you wish
- A Ruler
Step 1- Gather your supplies together. Unroll or pull 18 inches of yarn from your yarn ball and use your scissors to cut it away from the ball.
Step 2- Make a slip knot on one end of your yarn leaving a small tail behind (this will help you tie it to your dolls wrist later)
Step 3- Follow my video to finger knit the yarn by hooking the yarn around your finger and then pulling the yarn through the loop.
Step 4- Continue finger knitting until you have about 1 1/2 inches of yarn left at the end of your string. Make a knot. Now it is time to tie it on your dolls wrist and start on one for yourself!
To make one for your own wrist you will need to pull away 24-30 inches of yarn from the ball and repeat all the steps in the tutorial above.
If you wish to add beads to your bracelet for each camp station. Simply use a bit of yarn to thread through the bead and then tie it where you want it on the bracelet.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and that you will have fun making this camp craft with your friends and for your dolls.
For those of you interested in news about Maryellen Larkin: I saw a front cover of all three of her books. I know everyone saw book 1, book two she is in the same dress but has a blue bolero jacket on to match the dress, and on book 3 she is wearing a white button up front top trimmed in red and white checks and red buttons and a red and white checked headband. It also looks like she is riding a bicycle and has she has a Dachshund dog! The write-up said her year was 1954 she was 9yrs old and has 5 brothers and sisters. Maryellen also is wishing for a white christmas like in the movies but not very likely in FLORDIA. The question is will she find a way to make her dream come true?
Hope some of you find this as interesting as I did!!!
