Maplelea Canadian Girl Doll Giveaway

UPDATED!! CONGRATULATIONS HOLLY – you are the winner of the Maplelea Doll!

Did you know there is a line of 18″ dolls specifically created to celebrate Canadian girls and their heritage? The Maplelea Girls are 5 fabulous dolls representing the different regions, cultural interests and hobbies of Canadian girls.

Maplelea Girls is one of our newest site sponsors and they would like to introduce more Canadian and American girls to their line of dolls. We are giving away the Maplelea doll of choice to ONE lucky Doll Diaries reader. Whether you are a Canadian girl doll collector or your American Girl dolls are ready for a new friend from up North, you will love the Maplelea dolls.

Let me introduce you to Taryn, Brianne, Jenna, Alexi and the newest Maplelea Girl, Léonie – a hockey playing girl from Quebec City. Each of the Maplelea dolls are crafted with care and their face mold is modeled after a real Canadian girl. The dolls come dressed in their meet outfit and come with a 64-page book/journal. The first half of the journal is “written” by the character with details on her history, family, likes and hobbies and the second half is blank, ready for your girl to tell her own story. They are the perfect gift for girls 6-12 who love dolls. They are not really meant to be “twin” or “just like me” dolls, rather “best friend dolls” that girls can really have fun with.

    Dear Char,
Thank you so much for posting this and I’m so glad that I found this website. Anyway my family has been going through some tough times after my husband left my daughter and I. I know that my daughter would really love to have an American Girl doll but as a single mother I just can’t afford a doll that expensive( and I doubt American Girl would be giving away free dolls). So I found this website and discovered Maplelea dolls. I’m so grateful and I really hope that I will win a Maplelea doll for my daughter. My daughter, Caitlin, is very sweet and I just wish that she’ll have the doll of her dreams this Christmas. She doesn’t ask for much because she knows that I won’t be able to buy the “hottest” toys of today. It crushes my heart sometimes when she comes home and tells me that the girls at her school make fun of her because she doesn’t have an “American Girl doll”. So I really hope that I can win a doll so I can make Caitlin happy. Again, thank you for this great opportunity.

  2. Abby says:

    Char,
I’m most like Jenna, The Maplelea doll, Because we are both girls in motion. We both love to run and play soccer. Another quality we match on is music. I love to listen to music, make up songs, and sing along. And the last quality that we share is LOVING the ocean. Whenever I’m at the beach, I run along the sand and jump in the water. I don’t care what tempature the water is, whether is cold or warm, if sharks and fish swim onside it, I don’t care I love the ocean! :D

  3. Jean says:

Definately Jenna would be the doll of my daughter’s dreams- an actress! Jenna got to be Anne of Avonlea in a play– that would be my daughter’s dream come true having a lead in a school play.

  4. Justina Koshinsky says:

    Hi,

My daughter loves pink, lives in the prairies, and would love to be a ballerina. For all these reasons she would love to have Brianne. We are Canadians and love these dolls. Thanks for this great contest.

  5. Tania J. says:

These are fabulous dolls, celebrating our great country– I have 2 girls so I have to comment on two dolls (but if I won one I’d be sure to purchase the other one.)

Jenna, because she is a redhead so is my daughter and we visited the east coast last summer and loved it.

Léonie, for her musical ear and we lived in Quebec for a year which gave my daughter a love for French.

(and I myself would choose Taryn, because i grew up in Banff and figure skated as a child and loved camping and everything outdoors but I think I’m a bit old for a Maple Lea doll. If only they were around when I was a kid!)

    Thanks!

  6. Linda Pepa says:

Oh My…imagine finding this contest when just today the catalogue from Maplelea arrived. My granddaughter whom I care for every day while her parents work is totally smitten with Jenna. I favor Leonie as my Grandma whom I adored was French Canadian but I am entering the contest for my granddaughter so Jenna would be her pick for her most favorite of the group. She says she reminds her of herself (although she does not have either red hair or green eyes…funny kids) She does like soccer and running like Jenna so maybe it is a perfect fit! Thanks for letting me enter and I will try and post this on my blog and let you know when I have. Thans again,
    Linda

  7. Dakotah says:

I would love to win the Jenna doll, she is my favorite one of all.

We became a fan or doll diaries on Facebook. thanks!

  10. Nicci says:

My daughter absolutely loves Jenna! And she’s always wanted a Maplelea Canadian Girl Doll!!
    Thanks!! :)

  11. miriam says:

I’d love to give this doll to my 6 yr old sister! I thnk she’d appreciate Leonie the most because of her musical accessories–music is really big in our house! and because her coloring is very similar to my sister’s, their hair looks like an exact match.
But if I were choosing for myself, I’d pick Alexi–love her clothes and preferences, and she’s a cat person too!

  12. Maggie says:

I looked around the site and like it a lot.
I really like Jenna and Taryn, although all of them are cute. I think what I liked best was that they were all friends in the same time period.

I also ask my friends to join, and they are!

  13. Maureen riley says:

I would love to win the Leonie doll for my daughter, as we are both from Quebec! My daughter attends French school, and would love Leonie and the outdoor activities she enjoys.
Thanks for all the info on your website I have found it very helpful.

  14. Chelsea S. says:

This would be a wonderful doll to give to my friends child. I especially love the Alexi doll. The child I would give it to loves cats (Alexi has one) and is also very imaginative. She is always putting on her own plays!

  15. Chelsea S. says:
  16. Linda says:

they are all cute but Jenna or Leonie are my favorites. They have such nice clothing and accessories for these dolls on their website and it is hard to find such a variety when you live in Canada without looking accross the border. I hope this company does well and prospers. I noted they have a cheap shipping offer within Canada as well so anyone looking to buy for Christmas would be getting a good rate on the postage…if you live in Canada.

  17. DawnS says:

We would love Alexi – thanks for the chance!

  18. Ale Oliver says:

    Leoni pls, thx so much

  19. Ale Oliver says:
  20. Hi, If I won this wonderful contest, I would pick Léonie. My daughter has blod hair and blue eyes. Her great-grand-mother Lussier`s name was Léonie. I think it would be a wonderful surprise not only for her but for my husband. To top it off both Great-Grand-Ma Léonie and me come from Québec. So part of our heritage would be in this doll in a way. I would probably get the Réveillon red dress which is absolutely stunning! And her eyes are hazel just like me! How cool is that. She also loves birds just like us who love to do birdwatching.

A perfect match don`t you think?

  21. I’ve tweeted about it @Canadianladybug

  22. I facebooked it too! /Canadianladybug

  23. Marjorie says:

I explored the Maplelea world for the first time today and fell in love with Alexi because she loves orange, Jenna because she’s from the maritimes like Anne of Green Gables, and Leonie because she plays hockey. I think my American Girls need some Canadian friends!

PS anyone know how much they charge to ship to the US?

  24. My daughter loves these dolls – she’s always pointing them out to me trying to get me to buy one :) She would love Brianne best for sure – loves pink, wants to be a ballerina, and lives on our little hobby farm.
Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  25. I became a fan on facebook too!

  26. Shared the link on Facebook too!

  28. Jennifer S. says:

I would chose Jenna. My daughter loves soccer and music. I think they’d be a great pair together. Jenna would certainly get to meet lots of new people spending her time with my Shaughnessy. Shaughn loves to get out and do new things.

  29. Jennifer S. says:

I posted this page on my baby board. Even though I want to win the doll for the older of my 2 girls.:)

  30. Carla says:

I think my daughter would love Jenna as they seem a lot a like plus both are from Nova Scotia :D . The red hair is so cute too, even though DD is a brunette.

  31. Trish says:

My daughter has been asking for one of these dolls for the last few years. How wonderful it would be to surprise her with one. She would pick Taryn.
