Maplelea Canadian Girl Doll Giveaway
UPDATED!! CONGRATULATIONS HOLLY – you are the winner of the Maplelea Doll!
Did you know there is a line of 18″ dolls specifically created to celebrate Canadian girls and their heritage? The Maplelea Girls are 5 fabulous dolls representing the different regions, cultural interests and hobbies of Canadian girls.
Maplelea Girls is one of our newest site sponsors and they would like to introduce more Canadian and American girls to their line of dolls. We are giving away the Maplelea doll of choice to ONE lucky Doll Diaries reader. Whether you are a Canadian girl doll collector or your American Girl dolls are ready for a new friend from up North, you will love the Maplelea dolls.
Let me introduce you to Taryn, Brianne, Jenna, Alexi and the newest Maplelea Girl, Léonie – a hockey playing girl from Quebec City. Each of the Maplelea dolls are crafted with care and their face mold is modeled after a real Canadian girl. The dolls come dressed in their meet outfit and come with a 64-page book/journal. The first half of the journal is “written” by the character with details on her history, family, likes and hobbies and the second half is blank, ready for your girl to tell her own story. They are the perfect gift for girls 6-12 who love dolls. They are not really meant to be “twin” or “just like me” dolls, rather “best friend dolls” that girls can really have fun with.

We are lucky enough to be giving away, not one but TWO dolls right now at Doll Diaries, go check out the other giveaway for a custom My Twinn doll while you are here. Both dolls are wonderful gifts for girls ages 6-12.

I want Leonie. Mostly because she’s from the city I was born in. And she plays hockey, which is the only sport I can stand to watch.
Also, I’m now a fan of DD on facebook.
I would most relate to Lexi as she comes from the city of Toronto. I live only a few hours away and my mom and myself have grown up visiting the city often as we have relatives that live there. It is an amazing and beautiful city! So full of culture.
We are now fans of Doll Diaries on FaceBook!!!

I would love to win Brianne for my niece, Ariel. Like Brianne, Ariel loves the color pink and wishes to be a ballerina. At the same time, she enjoys her life in the Tennessee countryside and her time spent riding horses when her mom lived on a farm this spring. Ariel only has one doll, a Gotz doll she named Tulip Rosetta Daisy (because she also loves my garden), and I know she would be so happy to have a friend for Tulip! Especially a friend who likes pink. And ballet. And the countryside!
Ariel just turned 6 November 8th and this would be a great doll to teach her about life outside Tennessee and the U.S. Her mother and I grew up in Michigan, a river away from Canada, so it would be awesome to teach her more about our next door neighbor country.
Thanks for your consideration!
-Audra
i like the 1 like u lena she looks more like me
i would really like to win Taryn because I have always wanted a maplelea doll, but I couldn’t get one, I also have always wanted to go to Banff!
I look like her and I love her sooooo much!
-Erica
Leonie looks most like my daughter but I think she would like Alexi because Alexi looks a bit like me. She already has a couple of fair haired dolls and I think she’d like a dark haired doll that looks like her mother
And I know she’d enjoy the blue maplelea girls shirt and cap, and matching dolls’ shirt and cap! Thanks for the great giveaway!
I tweeted! http://twitter.com/bonggafinds/status/5901261676
I like Leonie the best because she enjoys music and she has a French background (our family is European).
My name is Anne!
I would love to enter and I have my mom’s permission!
I like Leonie!
I think she’s gorgeous and pretty!
I love her outfit and hair!
I would like Jenna because she likes sports, loves music(both my parents are musicians but only is in a band), and the ocean. I haven’t been to the ocean in years but last time I went it was really fun. I love Anne of Green Gables and wish that I had red hair(mine is blonde) And I want to learn more about Canada.
I want Brianna. My friend loves these dolls and for christmas if I win I don’t want to keep if for myself I want to give it to my friend as a Christmas present. I think she will be very thankful for it. I colect American girl dolls and she collects Caindian Girl dolls. Thanks for reading my comment!
I’m a figure skater and I got really excited when i read that one of the girls plays hockey. I would never do it, but one of ym friends is a blonde and is a female hockey player. I already have a Karito Kids 18 inch doll whom I made into a figure skater and this girl would be a neat addition. I’m talking about Léonie.
I also re-tweeted about this, became a fan, and posted a link to this give away on my FB. I have a few fellow doll collector friends on there that might enjoy this give away as well. =)

I like Brianne. That’s always been one of my favorite girls names!
i like leonie- she is really pretty and i love her name! my ag dolls want to meet someone from canada!
Reguarding the my twinn and Maplea doll givaways , I posted it on my myspace to all my almnost 100 contacts. My daughter saw Taryn and LOVES HER!! That doll is so beautiful!!! I love the idea of the girls finishing the journals themselves. the accessories are cute and the furniture looks like the stuff in a real girls room.
im also a fan on facebook, thanks!!!
I love Leonie (darn, I can’t insert accents). I love hockey (The only sport I play and like watching). Plus, my family came from Quebec before they immigrated to the U.S. Also, I fanned you guys on face book
I like Leonie, too- I’m musical, and nlike hockey.
I’m Sarah! I’m 11! I have permission!
Each of my 3 girls girls have connected with one of the Maplelea girls and they can’t stop talking about them! E loves Jenna because of her hair – it’s “orange”, her favourite colour – plus she loves sports! T relates most with Alexi because she’s so imaginative…and C, our little bug lover is in love with Taryn
They are all so beautiful, inside and out
I would love to win Brianne for my grand daughter. She loves animals and dancing and so does Brianne. My grand daughter lives about as far north as you can get in the Upper Penisula of Michigan, Yooper Ville.

What fantastic dolls!
I think I would choose Brianne as my favorite for my four year old daughter, as she dreams of being a ballerina (or a princess) and I could be considered as an unconventional farmer-we have quite the collection of pets! And Brianne resembles my daughter the most!
If I could win a second doll I would choose the Jenna doll as she resembles my other daughter.
I am a facebook fan. Screen name: Jessica Hendrickson
Thank you so much for the chance!
Never mind. I like earning things better than winning them. I’m not entering anymore.
Oh these dolls are nice! I like Jenna best, because she loves music, and I do too! Also she enjoys acting, which is my #1–! She got to play the part of Anne of Green Gables- (my dream role! I was in a local production of it last year as silly, flirty Ruby Gillis, which was a lot of fun, but not Anne!) Plus, she loves the ocean, and PEI, somewhere I’ve ALWAYS wanted to visit. And she does Celtic dancing, which I have not done, but it looks a lot of fun! Thank you for this wonderful chance to enter!
im also a fan on fb now!
We looked through them all and it was toss-up between Taryn because she is from Banff and my sister-in-laws used to love there and my daughter visited and loved it and Jenna. My daughter finally settled on Jenna becuase she’s sporty and quirky and loves the ocean. She also does Celtic dance & my daughter does Irish Dance.I think Jenna is my favourite too because I just LOVE it out East.
Jenna is the ONLY item on her Christmas list this year!
I think my daughter would relate to alexi, because she is imaginative like my daughter…
I’d most relate to Taryn. She loves camping, the outdoors, and butterflies just like me. She is also an enviromentalist like me!
These dolls are BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I became a fan on Facebook. Screen name: Holly LeeAnn Hilton
I posted on my website!!!

I like Alexa
My daughter would most relate to Brianne because she loves horses and horse back riding. She also really loves pink.
My daughter would like Brianne. Ever since the Maplelea doll catalog came with our monthly subscription of Chirp magazine, Abi has been longing for Brianne. For the last four years our family has been living in China, and we travel a lot. It’s been hard for Abi (age 5) to make and maintain friendships, and I think having Brianne might provide some much needed companionship. It’s almost as though Abi is looking for a friend, and Brianne is the kind of friend Abi would want. Abi also loves horses, and her favorite color is pink.
Personally, I’d love to have a Maplelea doll for my daughter. I married an American, and have lived outside of Canada for a decade now. Having Brianne for my daughter would be a way to pass on a small piece of Canadian heritage.
Wow
Leonie for sure! She looks exacly like my child and is very pretty!
I used to live in Quebec. I and my daughter LOVE hockey!
I love Léonie. I too love birds especially owls. She is a beautiful doll! How fun to have a friend from Canada.
I want leonie and jenna!!!!!
ok i pick jenna, i want her because we kinda look alike and her personality is like mine sort of and we’re both fiery and like music & the sea, too!!!
well and i like horses too, like brianne, but i don’t like pink,i like red and blue, and i’m not a girly girl.
so ya & my favorite is jenna!!
My little girl gets a Mapelea Doll brochure with her Chirp magazines. She fell in love with Alexi and has been asking for this doll for over a year now. She picked Alexi because they both love the color orange, reading and cats.
If I won the contest, I would either choose Alexi or Leonie. Alexi, because I live in downtown Toronto and we look very similar and Leonie because I play hockey. These dolls are beautiful and I’d love to own one. I am so glad these dolls are an alternate to AG dolls. Even though I love my AGs, I love how this company is 100% Canadian and incoperates the same values and quality that AG has.
Extra entry. Emailed friends.
If I were to win I would mostly want to have Tarayn,I love to paint and she does too. I would love to figure skate but I have neck problems, hip problems, ankle problems, knee problems all from a diease I have (Not kidding its called Moquopoly scaridoses 4A or as it is more commenly known as Morquio I am a little person who everyone thinks looks like Jen from little couple) And she could show me what it is like to figure skate. Lastly she loves to camp and I go camping TONSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please consider me to win this doll I have 1 candian doll who needs a friend
American Girls-9
Madame Alexanders-4
Mapela-1, Leona
Sarah
Actually I change my doll I want Leonie because she speaks french and I am taking french. And she does horsebackriding and I do that too
Dear Char,
Thank you so much for posting this and I’m so glad that I found this website. Anyway my family has been going through some tough times after my husband left my daughter and I. I know that my daughter would really love to have an American Girl doll but as a single mother I just can’t afford a doll that expensive( and I doubt American Girl would be giving away free dolls). So I found this website and discovered Maplelea dolls. I’m so grateful and I really hope that I will win a Maplelea doll for my daughter. My daughter, Caitlin, is very sweet and I just wish that she’ll have the doll of her dreams this Christmas. She doesn’t ask for much because she knows that I won’t be able to buy the “hottest” toys of today. It crushes my heart sometimes when she comes home and tells me that the girls at her school make fun of her because she doesn’t have an “American Girl doll”. So I really hope that I can win a doll so I can make Caitlin happy. Again, thank you for this great opportunity.
Char,
I’m most like Jenna, The Maplelea doll, Because we are both girls in motion. We both love to run and play soccer. Another quality we match on is music. I love to listen to music, make up songs, and sing along. And the last quality that we share is LOVING the ocean. Whenever I’m at the beach, I run along the sand and jump in the water. I don’t care what tempature the water is, whether is cold or warm, if sharks and fish swim onside it, I don’t care I love the ocean!
Definately Jenna would be the doll of my daughter’s dreams- an actress! Jenna got to be Anne of Avonlea in a play– that would be my daughter’s dream come true having a lead in a school play.
Hi,
My daughter loves pink, lives in the prairies, and would love to be a ballerina. For all these reasons she would love to have Brianne. We are Canadians and love these dolls. Thanks for this great contest.
These are fabulous dolls, celebrating our great country– I have 2 girls so I have to comment on two dolls (but if I won one I’d be sure to purchase the other one.)
Jenna, because she is a redhead so is my daughter and we visited the east coast last summer and loved it.
Léonie, for her musical ear and we lived in Quebec for a year which gave my daughter a love for French.
(and I myself would choose Taryn, because i grew up in Banff and figure skated as a child and loved camping and everything outdoors but I think I’m a bit old for a Maple Lea doll. If only they were around when I was a kid!)
Thanks!
Oh My…imagine finding this contest when just today the catalogue from Maplelea arrived. My granddaughter whom I care for every day while her parents work is totally smitten with Jenna. I favor Leonie as my Grandma whom I adored was French Canadian but I am entering the contest for my granddaughter so Jenna would be her pick for her most favorite of the group. She says she reminds her of herself (although she does not have either red hair or green eyes…funny kids) She does like soccer and running like Jenna so maybe it is a perfect fit! Thanks for letting me enter and I will try and post this on my blog and let you know when I have. Thans again,
Linda
I would love to win the Jenna doll, she is my favorite one of all.
I would love to win the Jenna doll, she is my favorite one of all.
We became a fan or doll diaries on Facebook. thanks!
My daughter absolutely loves Jenna! And she’s always wanted a Maplelea Canadian Girl Doll!!
Thanks!!
I’d love to give this doll to my 6 yr old sister! I thnk she’d appreciate Leonie the most because of her musical accessories–music is really big in our house! and because her coloring is very similar to my sister’s, their hair looks like an exact match.
But if I were choosing for myself, I’d pick Alexi–love her clothes and preferences, and she’s a cat person too!
I looked around the site and like it a lot.
I really like Jenna and Taryn, although all of them are cute. I think what I liked best was that they were all friends in the same time period.
I also ask my friends to join, and they are!
I would love to win the Leonie doll for my daughter, as we are both from Quebec! My daughter attends French school, and would love Leonie and the outdoor activities she enjoys.
Thanks for all the info on your website I have found it very helpful.
This would be a wonderful doll to give to my friends child. I especially love the Alexi doll. The child I would give it to loves cats (Alexi has one) and is also very imaginative. She is always putting on her own plays!

they are all cute but Jenna or Leonie are my favorites. They have such nice clothing and accessories for these dolls on their website and it is hard to find such a variety when you live in Canada without looking accross the border. I hope this company does well and prospers. I noted they have a cheap shipping offer within Canada as well so anyone looking to buy for Christmas would be getting a good rate on the postage…if you live in Canada.
We would love Alexi – thanks for the chance!
Leoni pls, thx so much

Hi, If I won this wonderful contest, I would pick Léonie. My daughter has blod hair and blue eyes. Her great-grand-mother Lussier`s name was Léonie. I think it would be a wonderful surprise not only for her but for my husband. To top it off both Great-Grand-Ma Léonie and me come from Québec. So part of our heritage would be in this doll in a way. I would probably get the Réveillon red dress which is absolutely stunning! And her eyes are hazel just like me! How cool is that. She also loves birds just like us who love to do birdwatching.
A perfect match don`t you think?
I’ve tweeted about it @Canadianladybug
I facebooked it too! /Canadianladybug
I explored the Maplelea world for the first time today and fell in love with Alexi because she loves orange, Jenna because she’s from the maritimes like Anne of Green Gables, and Leonie because she plays hockey. I think my American Girls need some Canadian friends!
PS anyone know how much they charge to ship to the US?
My daughter loves these dolls – she’s always pointing them out to me trying to get me to buy one
She would love Brianne best for sure – loves pink, wants to be a ballerina, and lives on our little hobby farm.
Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I became a fan on facebook too!
Shared the link on Facebook too!
Retweeted on Twitter from: UsbornebooksCB!
I would chose Jenna. My daughter loves soccer and music. I think they’d be a great pair together. Jenna would certainly get to meet lots of new people spending her time with my Shaughnessy. Shaughn loves to get out and do new things.
I posted this page on my baby board. Even though I want to win the doll for the older of my 2 girls.:)
I think my daughter would love Jenna as they seem a lot a like plus both are from Nova Scotia
. The red hair is so cute too, even though DD is a brunette.
My daughter has been asking for one of these dolls for the last few years. How wonderful it would be to surprise her with one. She would pick Taryn.
