As we continue our Camp Doll Diaries prep week, here is a quick craft you can make and use all summer long.
Karen here and one of my fondest camping memories was our evening fires. We would spend the afternoon looking for the perfect branches for our evening bonfire and inspired by that camp memory I wanted to share a fun and easy way you can make a twilight camp fire for your dolls.
To make your own you will need:
- The lid from a jar I used a salsa lid
- Sticks (you can use cinnamon sticks if you do not have sticks available where you live)
- A glue gun or glue dots
- Felt in orange, yellow and red
- Sharpie Marker
Step 1- Gather all your supplies. If you are using a glue gun plug it in to warm up. Brake your sticks so that they are 5-6 inches in length or longer.
Step 2- Add glue on the inside of your jar lid and press a stick into place. On the opposite side of the jar add more glue and then lean another stick towards the stick you just glued in place, repeat until your jar base is filled with sticks and your bonfire shape is taking place.
Step 3- Cut random shapes out of your three felt colors. Use more glue in-between the branches and carefully slide the felt into place, making them a pattern that looks like real flames coming out of your sticks. Allow them to dry in place.
Step 4- Use a marker to color in the wording on your jar as I have done. Once the marker and the glue is dry your camp fire is ready to use!
I hope you have fun making a Twilight Campfire and make wonderful camp memories of your own.
