Karen here, I have been listening to and resisting the Ice Cream Truck that drives by my house repeatedly daily!  So while I was enjoying my afternoon tea I thought it would be fun to share a fun and easy way to make oven bake polymer clay sweet treats for your dolls.

To create your own sweet treats for your dolls you will need:

  • Oven bake polymer clay in chocolate brown and white
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks from the dollar store craft section
  • Scissors
  • Small Rectangle Cookie Cutter (I used premo! Metal Crinkle Cutters rectangle)
  • A tooth pick or Sculpey tools
  • Oven safe baking sheet
  • Wax paper or Sculpey work n’ bake clay mat
  • Your Oven

Step 1-  Assemble all your supplies and preheat the oven to the clay manufactures directions. Cover your work space.  Unwrap the chocolate brown color of your clay and roll it into a ball, flatten it with the palm of your hand and use the cookie cutter to cut out two pieces 1/4 inch thick .

Step 2- Use the Pointed Sculpey Tool or a tooth pick to make your rectangle cookie look like the cookies on the outside of a real ice cream sandwich. Repeat on both brown rectangles.

Step 3- Wash your hands and work surface. Un wrap and roll out a small amount of white clay, use the same cookie cutter and cut a 1/4 inch thick white rectangle.

Step 4- Layer the “cookie” with the white ice cream in the center and top with another “cookie”, gently press together. Place on a baking sheet and bake according to the manufacturers directions. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool completely before letting your dolls enjoy!

To make the doll sized Fudgesicles :

Step 1-  Roll out a small ball of brown clay and press into a rectangle and round the  top edge.

Step 2-  Use your scissors and cut a mini wooden Popsicle in half, insert one of the Popsicle sticks, cut end first into your rectangle shape, leaving half the stick out as a handle.

Step 3- Use your other stick to make two indents in the rectangle on each side of your fudgesicle. Place on a baking sheet and bake according to manufactures directions. Allow it cool completely before allowing your doll to enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed today’s craft and the best part is these sweet treats will not melt away in the sun, making them a wonderful addition to your doll play food collections!
