In the aquarium there are classrooms where you can learn more about the fish and the various environments. One of the interactive displays for the campers to learn with is the fish story board.
This is an easy and fun way to make a felt storyboard for your dolls to use in the aquarium classroom. Using felt and other items on hand you too can quickly and creatively add to your doll play set collections!
To make your own you will need:
- Kunin Felt In various colors
- Low Temp Glue Gun
- A Ruler
- Beads, buttons, google eyes
Step 1- Assemble all your supplies. Plug in your glue gun. Cut your cardboard down to two pieces measuring 6 inches by 6 inches.
Step 2- Tape the cardboard together as shown in the photo above. Then open it and lay it flat. Use your glue gun to out line the board and press the felt on to the board as shown in the photos above.
Step 3- Cut a 3 inch piece of scrap felt . This will be used on the inside of your board to help your board stand up with out falling down flat! Glue one edge to one inside of your board and then glue the other as shown.
Step 4- Cut out felt shapes for fish and plants. I did not use a pattern and just cut mine out free hand. I then layered and glued felt to create my felt plants.
Step 5- Next I started on the simple yellow gold fish!
Step 6- Cut out a large finger nail shape to create an octopus head, then cut out his eight squiggly legs. Use buttons, beads or google eyes and glue them into place for his or her eyes.
Step 7- Cut out a Clown fish out of orange felt and add white felt strips, glue them into place add an eye and you are ready to play!
I hope you have fun making your own Fun Felt Fish Storyboard!
