Are you ready for a Safari themed activity today?! I love how my real life little monkey (okay my daughter Jemma) helped me model and play with today’s craft.
When I heard that The Queen’s Treasures joined in a partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute I was inspired to do a chimpanzee craft for our safari week. I look forward to seeing the Jane Goodall themed products from The Queen’s Treasures that will be released in the upcoming months.
Attached below are the printable Chimpanzee Masks for you and your doll. Simply print, color, and cut out. Attach string, ribbon, or elastic to each side of mask to hold in place. I used baby stretch elastic and hot glue. I colored these masks in with crayons…but you can use anything! Use crayons, paint, markers, glitter…whatever your creative heart desires. Design it simple or bold. Your brush / pencil strokes can add hair detail. The doll behind the mask is Nelly.
This adorable safari (or zoo keeper) doll outfit is from Esty shop, My Girl Clothing Co. Their link is here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MyGirlClothingCo. The owner, Donna, is a fabulous seamstress. This outfit is of very good quality. I love the mini buttons and actual mini button holes. I chose a blond haired doll to resemble Jane Goodall.
The chimpanzee is a mini Webkinz found from Amazon. It makes the perfect size for an 18 inch doll. The link is here: http://www.amazon.com/Webkinz-WKSS2007-Smaller-Signature-Chimpanzee/dp/B003XIHU5E/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1433961394&sr=1-1&keywords=webkinz+chimpanzee+smaller.
