For the past 10 weeks our life has been sort of consumed with Mary Poppins!! Natalie’s theater group is putting on the Broadway version of Mary Poppins and it has been a lot of work. Natalie plays the part of Queen Victoria (she makes a pretty awesome Queen) and she is one of the fabulous Chimney Sweep dancers too. Of course, as many of you know, these productions require a lot of work from the grown ups too – making sets, costumes, props and in my case coordinating raffles to help raise money for their organization.
We are raffling off this adorable Madame Alexander doll (one I reviewed earlier in the summer) and we were able to find a Mary Poppins dress for her at the last minute. Dawn from DollsDreamClothes on Etsy made the dress and got it to me in record time.
Look at the sweet details! It looks just like the dress Mary Poppins wears in the number called “Jolly Holiday.”
The show runs this weekend and next weekend. Next weekend another raffle I have planned includes tea sets from The Queen’s Treasures and one of the Gotz dolls who looks like the girl who plays Jane in the show. Now I just need to put together her outfit to make her look like Jane. Anyone have any ideas or recommended Etsy shops?
In other news, I apologize for the technical difficulty that wiped out my Sunday Showcase post last week. I will be posting those photos plus any photos you sent in this week first thing tomorrow morning.
I hope you have a great weekend – I mean a “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” weekend! We are headed out for a long day – a matinee and evening performance – but it will be amazing!
