You are going to love this one! So what is “Glamping”? It is a combination of Glamour and Camping or really a really girly-girl style of camping. Teniel of Ava’s Doll Room recently gave her daughter’s Our Generation RV Seeing You Camper from Target a Glamping Makeover and was kind enough to share the photos with us!
I found this amazing fabric and I went to work! I replaced the curtains, new cover for the cushion, I added new pillows and of course my signature flower pillow (to add a little more glamour). I made a cover for the pullout table, a towel to hang on the oven. My favorite was making the blanket, I love the tents, campfire, also the different sayings “cowgirls go to heaven, glampers go everywhere” and “pretty and pink”. The accessories for the refrigerator were the soda lip balms (you can get them at the dollar bin at Target). Claire’s has them as well, but it’s cheaper at Target. The gallon of milk, orange juice, pots, pans, even the stuff in the oven etc…. were all from the Our Generation R.V. Seeing You Camper Accessory Set. I added a clock, the “Keep Calm and Glamp On” poster and the little glamping (magnet) for the refrigerator.
Take a look at how it turned out! Oh, so cute!!
When you first open the camper door you are greeted with absolute glamping cuteness!
The goodies under the sink.
The bench that folds out to a bed.
The bench folds out to a bed and this blanket made from the “glamping” fabric Teniel found is just beyond perfect with a bit of a vintage feel and great colors.
Take a look inside the refrigerator and stove. The chocolate syrup and Mountain Dew are lip gloss.
The kitchen corner – plenty of play value here!
The kitchen complete with all of Teniel’s extra special touches!!
The Our Generation RV Seeing You Camper ($60) and its accessories ($13) are available at Target stores. I love the Our Generation play sets because they really are a good value – especially if you can get them on sale. Something tells me, these Camper sets are hard to find and will not be available after the holidays on clearance – just my guess.
I hope Teniel’s photos inspire you to get creative with the doll play sets you may already have. And thanks so much Teniel for sending these photos in. LOVE IT!!
UPDATE!!! MaryJane Butters, the designer of the Glamping fabric, stopped by and said “hi” in the comments. She also let me know where to find her awesome Glamping Fabric:
- FatQuarterShop.com – will have the coordinating sets in March 2013
- Moda – this looks more like a wholesale site, but you can see the different patterns
