Coming soon to a theater near you is the new Legends of Oz  Dorothy’s Return movie where Dorothy’s only just returned home from her first incredible journey to Oz, and she’s already being called back for another adventure!  The cast list is amazing and I think this is going to be an interesting sequel to the legendary first story.

While we were at ToyFair, we met with Bandai – makers of a line of dolls that go with the movie. Let’s take a closer look at Dorothy.

Toys R Us has started to carry her on their shelves for $24.99.  She has an adorable face with painted eyes.

She is completely made of  hard plastic and has painted panties.  Her arms, legs and head can move.

Her hair is braided into two pigtails.  Her hair is designed to be in pigtails she does not have a lot of  hair to let it loose.

Dorothy is advertised to be 18 inches tall on the Toys R Us website, but in comparing with the 14 inch Hearts4Hearts and the 18 inch American Girl , she is closer to 14 inches.   She is a light weight doll.   Her boots can be removed as well as her dress.  She can not share clothes with the Hearts 4 Hearts dolls, her body is larger.

Dorothy is very cute in my opinion and is definitely a play doll.  She fits in well with the other 14 inch and 18 inch dolls and can be a nice addition to any play doll collection.   Dorothy also comes as a fashion doll in three different packages.  One of the fashion dolls sings the song by Lea Michele who is the voice of Dorothy in the movie.    One other 14 inch doll is expected to be released which is the China Doll Princess.  One thing I found should have been included with Dorothy was her dog Toto.

I can not wait to see the new movie it looks like Dorothy is returning to OZ and finding new friends. If you visit the Legends of Oz website, not only can you find out more on the movie, but they have some fun games and printables you can do as well.
