Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Mystery

Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Mystery, is the next in the series of movies based on the American Girl book series. The movie, which is in pre-production, is still being cast.

Over the past few weeks American Girl has been holding open auditions for girls ages 8-12 to play in the movie along side actress Abigail Breslin, who has been cast as Kit.

When I made my first post about the movie in April, IMDB had indicated that Josette Halpert would be playing Ruthie. That seems to have changed - possibly due to the fact that Josette played Alison Hargate in the Molly - An American Girl on the Home Front. Josette is not listed on IMDB as part of the cast at last check.

I would expect we will hear more about the cast between now and mid-June as filming is expected to start then.

I would love to hear from anyone who went to the auditions! What a cool experience that would be.

    I went to the auditions. It was so fun. I got a call back for Ruthie. I was organized but crazy at the same time. In the first auditions they called like eleven girls into the room. we said our line, name, and age. that was all then we just left. We waited in line for about two hours. There were five different lines with probably about 250-500 girls in each line. it was a great experiance.

    I went to the audition, and did not get called back, i memorized both the adition and the call back sript. I have never done anything like this before,and a week before the adition i was very stressed about it. i practiced it many times i waited on line for about three and half hours, I aditioned in NYC someone gave us there chairs, because thry couldent bring them on the subway.i met some very nice people from all over, i practiced the lines with people standing in front and behind me. i wonder who got the parts, i wish them luck. i hope to do this again it was so much fun.

    I went to the audition in NYC. It was awesome! I have always been auditioning since I was about 8 years old. And I have even landed some commercials and guest apperances such as Ugly Betty and Lost shows. But the AG auditions were really fun! Since it was kid friendly- unlike alot of the other auditions I go to. I made alot of new friends and the casting directors were so nice! I got a callback and I was estatic, but I’m not supposed to say any more. So Good luck to all my fellow contestants! :-)

    Hey, this is Bella! U might recognize me from the Mirror TV commercials and Target adds! BUt annyways I audditioned too! I was really surprised because there was this group of girls auditioing and they were like, ” Oh my gosh! Thats that girl from the commercials about that new TV!” And then they started asking fo rmy autograph, but that was reely fun because ussually people dont really reocgnize me. But the auditions were really fun. All though we had to wait a really really long time in line, it was a blast!

    I autioned and got the callback AND final callback! It was so fun!! I met some very nice people! I didn’t think I got the part because they said they started filming on the 29th but now all the sites say it starts in the middle of June!!! This is torchure but it still rocked!
