When we first got a look at the new Hunger Games Katniss Barbie from Mattel in the spring, everyone was concerned she might just sell out. Dacia of Mini Me Dolly Divas was a great Mom and took her daughter to buy Katniss over the weekend. After all, her daughter had been saving all her money for it! Her daughter was kind enough to let Katniss out of her sight long enough to get some photos done which she sent into me to share with you.
The Hunger Games Katniss Barbie is a Barbie Collector Black Label doll that is available at Barbie Collector, Amazon, and most major toy retailers.

For Hunger Games fans, I do think they did a good job with this Barbie version of Katniss. It is a great piece to add to a collection whether it is a Hunger Games collection or a Barbie collection.
Something tells me Katniss is going to be a popular Halloween costume this year – and easy to make, too!

For apocalypse day at my school, I dressed up as Katniss. Friends say I pulled off the look quite nicely.
Hmm… I saw she was about $50 somewhere {I can’t remember}. I want to get her!
I think the face Mattel chose for her was as close to perfect as they could get without doing a new sculpt, and they put a lot of detail into her. I’m definitely getting her!

I saw her at Barnes and Noble the other day. She is pretty but I won’t be buying her because I have too many Barbies already, LOL. But she’s cool anyway!

If y’all have a Wal-Mart close by, she’s only 24.77 there! I pass by her in electronics every day on the way to my pharmacy job, and she is totally cool in person. I almost want to buy her, but I gave up Barbie collecting a few years ago when I passed 300. Have sold over 200 of those. I miss it sometimes, though!

I got her for my birthday this weekend, and I love her. And I’m making Julie’s bed into a bunk bed/loft bed. I’m going to make a matress for the bottom. (I moved it to the top.)
While I’m not the biggest Hunger Games fan, I do love that Barbie doll. I would keep her in the box, since it looks so cool, lol. I’ve read the book but I haven’t seen the movie yet. Is it as good as the book?
